Background In recent years, the further deepening of population aging has brought many challenges to my country’s economy, society, and other aspects, and it has also brought great challenges to maintain and promote the physical and mental health of the older adults. The study found that the self-perceptions of ageing produced by the older adults during the aging process is an important psychological factor that determines whether the older adults can successful ageing, and has an important impact on their physical and mental health.Exploring the latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing could inform targeted interventions.Frailty,as an unhealthy state, has a great impact on the physical and mental health of the older adults. Therefore, exploring the impact of latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing on frailty can provide targets for frailty intervention in the older adults. Objectives This study was to explore the latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing and its change in latent classes of the community-dwelling older adults.Analyses the effects of different latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing on frailty of the community-dwelling older adults. In order to analyze whether self-perceptions of ageing is feasible under different classification methods, and to provide suggestions and basis for the intervention of frailty with self-perceptions of ageing as the target.Methods1.Using the convenient sampling,1005 community-dwelling older adults in Binhu,Chengcheng,Yangguang,Xinglong,Luotuowan Community of Hongqi District,Xinxiang City were selected for investigation from April 2019 to July 2020.Based on the completion of a cross-sectional survey,a second follow-up visit was performed on 529community-dwelling older adults who participated in the follow-up from August 2020 to July 2021.2.Questionnaires were used to investigate the community-dwelling older adults with general information questionnaire,The Brief Ageing Perceptions Questionnaire(B-APQ),Frailty Phenotype(FP),Tilburg Frailty Indicator(TFI),Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)and Patients’ Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 item(PHQ-9).SPSS 21.0was used for descriptive statistics,Chi-square test,Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U test,Spearman correlation analysis,Multiple disordered logistic regression and Generalized linear regression analysis to analyze the influencing factors of different latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing and the relationship between the different latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing and the frailty of the community-dwelling older adults;Mplus 7.0 was used for Latent Profiles Analysis(LPA)and Latent Transition Analysis(LTA)to explore the different latent classes and change in latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing of the community-dwelling older adults.Results1.According to the LPA result, the self-perceptions of ageing of the community-dwelling older adults were classified into four latent classes, namely "Positive perception" subgroup, containing 17.1% of the sample."High ageing awareness" subgroup, containing 10.7% of the sample,"Middle average perception" subgroup, containing 62.8%of the sample, and "Low positive control" subgroup, containing 9.6% of the sample.2.The results of multiple logistic regression equation showed that taking the Positive perception subgroup as the reference subgroup, the age(≥80 years old,OR=3.753,95% CI:1.284~10.973),the source of life is supported by children(OR = 10.931,95% CI:1.346~88.760),diabetes(OR=4.457,95% CI: 2.116~9.387)and depression emotion(OR=1.276,95% CI: 1.151~1.414)were more likely to be classified into the High ageing awareness subgroup. The age(≥80 years old,OR=2.461,95% CI: 1.016~5.957),diabetes(OR=2.331,95% CI: 1.234~4.405),and depression emotion(OR=1.218,95% CI: 1.113~1.332)were more likely to be classified into the Middle average perception subgroup; The age(≥80 years old,OR=3.555,95% CI: 1.215~10.402),and the source of life was supported by children(OR=7.488,95% CI: 1.092~51.327),diabetes(OR=2.576,95% CI:1.134~1.134),self-reported history of stroke(OR=2.839,95% CI: 1.160~6.949)and depression emotion(OR=1.285,95% CI: 1.158~1.426)were more likely to be classified into the Low positive control subgroup.3.The results of LTA showed that, the probability of Positive perception subgroup,High ageing awareness subgroup,Middle average perception subgroup and Low positive control subgroup maintained the original same subgroup during the follow-up survey were67.9%,87.4%,53.0% and 55.3% respectively. With the development of time,Positive perception subgroup tended to changed to Middle average perception subgroup, and the transition probability was 32.0%;The probability of changed from Positive perception subgroup and High aging awareness subgroup to Low positive control subgroup was 0.The probability of transition from Middle average perception subgroup to Low positive control subgroup was 28.8%;The probability of transition from Low positive control subgroup to High ageing awareness subgroup was 25.4%.4.Generalized linear regression showed that the High ageing awareness subgroup,Middle average perception subgroup and Low positive control subgroup at the first survey were the influencing factors of physical frailty and comprehensive frailty in the community-dwelling older adults;the High ageing awareness subgroup and Low positive control subgroup at the first survey were the influencing factors of psychological frailty of the community-dwelling older adults.Conclusions1.The heterogeneity of self-perceptions of ageing among the elderly in the community has been confirmed.Age,diabetes, financial resources and depression emotion are the influencing factors different latent classes of self-perceptions of ageing;2.Among the subgroups of self-perceptions of aging of community-dwelling older adults, the stability of four subgroups from high to low is High ageing awareness subgroup,Positive perception group,Low positive control subgroup and Middle average perception subgroup, and all subgroups have changed over time to other categories;3.Among the subgroups of self-perceptions of aging of the community-dwelling older adults, the High ageing awareness subgroup,Middle average perception subgroup and the Low positive control subgroup can predict the occurrence of physical frailty and comprehensive frailty.the Middle average perception subgroup has nothing to do with psychological frailty, and all subgroups have nothing to do with social frailty.
