Assessment Of Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Gel,Liquid Cleanser And Moisturizer SPF 30 In Combined Treatment For Acne

Objective Combining skin care products（cleansers and moisturizers）with benzoyl peroxide（BPO）in the treatment of acne may improve treatment tolerability and adherence.Evaluate patient’s satisfaction after use of BPO 5% gel in combination with liquid cleanser and moisturizer SPF 30.Material and methodA total of 100 patients were enrolled in an open-label study including patients aged 13 to 30 years with mild-to-moderate facial acne.Patients receiving BPO 5% gel once daily,liquid cleanser twice daily and moisturizer SPF 30 once daily were applied for 12 weeks.Assessments included a patient satisfaction questionnaire,investigator global assessment of improvement,lesion counts,and safety.ResultAfter 12 weeks most of the patients enrolled in the study were overall satisfied with the three-part regimen（87%）and felt better about themselves（94%）.Patients indicated the skin care products（cleansers and moisturizers）helped prepare the skin for treatment（85%）,relieve itchy skin（81%）,and reduce irritation（87%）.Most of the patients considered that the liquid cleanser（80%）and moisturizer SPF 30（84%）which was combined with BPO 5% gel were a necessary part of acne treatment.The treatment was well tolerated.ConclusionThe combination of BPO 5% gel with liquid cleanser and moisturizer SPF 30 resulted in high levels of subject satisfaction,good tolerability,and treatment adherence.
