Objective:Exploring the relationship between calcified foci in Ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS)and its clinical and pathological features. Methods:The clinical and pathological data of 302 patients with DCIS who were treated at the Department of Breast Surgery of the First Hospital of Jilin University from June 2011 to June 2020 were retrospectively collected and analyzed.Based on the preoperative mammography findings, the patients were categorized into calcified foci group or non-calcified foci group. The relationship between calcified foci and clinical and pathological characteristics of DCIS was analyzed by applying the chi-square test. Results:Compared with DCIS patients in the non-calcified foci group, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(Her-2)overexpression(P = 0.002),medium-high nuclear grade(P = 0.005),Estrogen receptor(ER)negative expression(P = 0.006)in DCIS in the calcified foci group and Progesterone receptor(PR)negative expression(P < 0.001)rates were higher, with significant differences; The proportion of Luminal A type was the highest in both groups, and the proportion of Luminal A type was lower in the calcified foci group than in the non-calcified foci group, and the proportion of Her-2 overexpression type was higher in the calcified foci group than in the non-calcified group with DCIS,with statistically significant differences(P = 0.009);The differences in age at diagnosis, tumor size,Antigen Ki67(Ki-67)expression status, and BMI between the two groups were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).Conclusion:Foci of calcification in DCIS correlate with their adverse pathological features.
