| Objection:To analyze the postoperative efficacy of the absorbable sinus drug stents in the frontal sinus of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.Methods:51 patients diagnosed with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps who received surgical treatment were selected According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria at the Second Hospital of Jilin University from October2020 to September 2021,after introducing the advantages and disadvantages of the drug stents, patients that were willing to receive drug stents implantation were experimental group while others that receive FESS surgery only without drug stents implantation were divided into the control group.FESS surgery also included nasal polypectomy, and submucous correction of nasal septum deviation was performed if necessary. All patients completed preoperative examination including nasal sinus outcome test(SNOT-22)and visual analog scale(VAS)scores, nasal endoscopy and CT examination, and Lund-Kennedy and Lund-Mackay scores performed by the attending physician.Every patient received mucous promoting agent and saline irrigation every day, nasal glucocorticoids would be used after 14 days of surgery.SNOT-22 and VAS scores were evaluated regularly at 1 and 3 months after surgery. The examining physician completed the Lund-Kennedy score and the disease control evaluation scale.Edema tissues around the frontal sinus were collected for the analysis of tissue eosinophil infiltration. Results:Except the symptom of postnasal drip, which didn’t improve significantly in 1 month postoperative, other symptoms such as nasal obstruction, purulent rhinorrhea, face and head pain and dysosmia were improved in both groups(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences between two groups(P>0.05).Lund-Kennedy score and the frontal sinus opening score in experimental groups were significantly lower than the control groups(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the proportion of postoperative intervention and the unobstructed side of the frontal sinus between the two groups after surgery(P<0.05).The rate of disease control(effective rate)had significant difference between the experimental group and the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in eosinophil count between the experimental group and the control group before and after the implantation of drug scaffold(P>0.05),but there was a significant decrease in the two groups(P<0.001).Conclusion:1.The subjective symptoms were significantly relieved after surgery in patients with CRSw NP,whether the absorbable sinus drug stents is or not.2.The absorbable sinus drug stents is effective in the short-term postoperative treatment of CRSw NP,which can reduce the edema around the frontal sinus opening, ensure the frontal sinus drainage, and reduce postoperative intervention.3.The absorbable sinus drug stents had no obvious effect on the change of eosinophil number in local tissues after one month of the FESS in CRSw NP patients. |
