| Objective: With the development of thoracoscopic techniques, pulmonary segmentectomy is now increasingly used in thoracic surgery. The focus of pulmonary segmentectomy is on the precise identification of the relevant anatomical structures, with the key point to determinate the intersegmental plane.Currently, there are many advantages and disadvantages to each of the commonly methods of distinguishing the intersegmental plane. The aim of the study is to analyze the feasibility of the distal inflation method in demarcating the intersegmental plane in thoracoscopic anatomical segmentectomy. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 89 patients(38 males and 51 females, aging from33 to 81)who were performed thoracoscopic anatomical segmentectomy at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from December 2018 and December2020.Computer reconstruction software was used to reconstruct pulmonary vessels, bronchus.Among them,42 patients were used the distal inflation method to define the intersegmental plane, and the other patients were used the traditional inflation-deflation method to define the intersegmental plane.Perioperative details and personal dates during hospitalization were evaluated for both groups. Results: The intersegmental planes were showed clearly in both groups. In the distal inflation method group, the display time of the intersegmental plane was significantly shortened(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in age, sex, smoking history, pulmonary function(FVC,FEV1),nodule size and other observational indicators(P>0.05).Conclusions: The distal inflation method is a safe and feasible method to identify the intersegmental plane.Compared to the traditional inflation-deflation method, the distal inflation method provides an accurate indication of the intersegmental plane and the intersegmental plane can be clearly visible. |
