Objective: To assess the difference of the clinical efficacy and safety of the therapy of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH),through two different surgical procedures as follows transurethral resection of prostate(TURP)and transurethral green laser enucleation of prostate(TU-GLEP).Methods: A total of 62 patients with BPH who received surgical treatment in our hospital from October 2018 to September 2020 were reviewed, including 30 patients with TURP and 32 patients with TUG-GLEP.Intraoperative blood loss, time of operation, common complications after surgery, intraoperative glandular mass, postoperative catheter indwelling days, bladder irrigation time and postoperative discharge days were collected and compared between the two groups.Prostate symptom scores(IPSS)and quality of life scores(QOL)were measured preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively, respectively. The maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax)and common complications were observed and followed up.Results: Compared with TURP group, the volume of blood lost during the operation(38.03±12.64)and(55.51±13.07)ml,bladder irrigation time(19.06±0.90)and(24.43±1.60)h,indwelling catheter duration(4.97±0.15)and(5.45±0.17)d and postoperative hospital stay(6.41±0.27)and(7.50±0.38)d in TU-GLEP group were better than those in TURP group(P < 0.05).There were similar result in operative time, weight of prostatectomy,TURS and other complications between the two groups(P > 0.05).After treatment,Qmax,Qo L scores and IPSS scores in 2 groups were significantly improved(P< 0.05).Postoperative IPSS score of TU-GLEP group(6.31±0.188)was superior to that of TURP group(7.3±0.16)(P < 0.05),but there was no difference in postoperative Qmax and QOL scores(P>0.05).Through statistical analysis,we found that the two groups had undifferentiated results in postoperative related diseases(P > 0.05),except that the incidence of postoperative sexual dysfunction in the TURP group was higher than that in the TU-GLEP group(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Both TUG-GLEP and TURP have definite efficacy for relieving the symptoms of BPH,meanwhlie the curative effect of TUG-GLEP is better than TURP.TU-GLEP is superior to TURP in terms of less intraoperative bleeding, less risk of bleeding, more rapid hospital discharge, faster recovery and relatively fewer complications, etc.,which is welcomed by people.
