Objective:Studying the changes of body composition in healthy and gestational diabetic(GDM)pregnant women to explore the clinical application of body composition analysis in GDM.Methods:Overview of study design a retrospective cohort study was conducted.Research objects are pregnant women who participated in the body composition measurement and had delivered in the obstetric department of Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital from July 2015 to March2019.Clinical and historical information was obtained from the electronic medical record.R software is used to analysis data.To study the changes of body composition in pregnant women and difference in pregnancy and pre-pregnancy body mass index in health and GDM women.Result:(1)A total of 996 pregnant women meet the criteria and had complete data in the obstetric department of our hospital from July 2015to March 2019,including 840 healthy pregnant women and 156 GDM pregnant women.(2)From first trimester to second trimester, the body composition of healthy pregnant women is mainly increased by protein.(3)In the women who body mass index≥18.5kg/m~2,body fat rate in gestational diabetes mellitus pregnant women is higher than the normal(P<0.05).(4)In receiver operating Characteristic(ROC)curve analysis of gestational diabetes mellitus, the cutoff value of body fat rate was24.63%.(5)The logistic regression analysis shows that age≥35 year-old,BMI≥28 kg/m~2,body fat rat≥24.63%,intracellular water≥14.81 kg before pregnancy are the high risk factors of gestational diabetes.(6)In terms of pregnancy outcome,in pregnant women with body fat rate≥24.63%,the rate of dystodynia was as high as 54.89%,postpartum hemorrhage accounted for 15.79%,and macrosomia was 14.67%,significantly higher than the group with whose body fat rate<24.63%.Conclusion:Body composition analysis can be used as a convenient and non-invasive test in weight monitoring and risk assessment of GDM during pregnancy,in which body fat rate≥24.63%is an independent risk factor for early assessment of GDM risk in pregnant women.
