Crouzon syndrome is the most common craniosynostosis syndrome, often accompanied by ocular and respiratory complications. The changes of ocular anatomy, such as shallow orbital cavity, compensatory exophthalmos and widened orbital distance, lead to eye dislocation, exposure keratitis, strabismus and other diseases.Furthermore, increased intracranial pressure leads to papilledema and optic atrophy, resulting in vision problems.Patients with Crouzon syndrome often suffer from dyspnea and recurrent respiratory tract infection due to the abnormal anatomical structure of the respiratory tract, which is consistent with the performance of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome(OSAHS).Occasionally, mental decline and acute respiratory distress occur. In addition, because of the compression of the auditory nerve from the skull base and cartilage abnormalities, resulting in the narrowing of the internal auditory canal, there are often manifestations of hearing loss and middle ear diseases, and occasionally reports of ear bleeding and external ear abnormalities.Genetic progress makes the diagnosis of Crouzon syndrome more accurate and early. Objective:To explore the common clinical characteristics of patients with Crouzon syndrome, and summarize the facial improvement, patient satisfaction and postoperative complications. Methods:From January 2013 to December 2019,a total of 10 patients with Crouzon syndrome were analyzed retrospectively, including symptoms and signs, all kinds of examination results, genetic history, surgical methods, prognosis and postoperative complications. Results:All the 10 patients with Crouzon syndrome had typical craniofacial deformities, and their hearing was not affected.9 patients had snoring and mouth opening breathing symptoms during deep sleep, and 7 patients’ vision was affected. The appearance of midface of 10 patients with Crouzon syndrome was improved significantly compared with that before operation. The results of operation met the expectation of patients or their guardians and showed high satisfaction.Postoperative complications of 10 patients with Crouzon syndrome included facial paresthesia, postoperative infection, obvious scar, stent loosening and facial asymmetry. Conclusion:The postoperative complications of Crouzon syndrome mentioned in this paper can be avoided in early intervention, further improve the patient’ s facial appearance, quality of life and satisfaction.
