Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Clinical Useful Depression Outcome Scale(CUDOS),explore the applicability of the CUDOS in China and provide a reference for the future research.Method:1.After obtaining the authorization of the original author,The English version of the CUDOS was translated into Chinese using a forward and backward translation method, cultural adjustment and pre-experimental method.2.To evaluate the psychometric characteristics(reliability and validity)of the Chinese version of the CUDOS.3.Sensitivity and specificity were evaluated by assessing the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve to obtain the optimal cutoff score when identifying remission。Result:1.The internal consistency(Cronbach’s alpha coefficients)of the CUDOS was 0.95 and the split-half reliability coefficient of the CUDOS was 0.92,respectively.The correlation coefficient of the retest was 0.77,which indicates that the scale has excellent test-retest reliability.2.The exploratory factor analysis results suggest that the Chinese version of the CUDOS is a single factor structure scale. The correlation coefficient between the Chinese version of the CUDOS and the Hamilton Depression Scale is 0.92,indicating that the Chinese version of the CUDOS has good criterion validity. There are significant differences in scores between groups with different degrees of depression, suggesting that the Chinese version of the CUDOS has excellent discriminative validity.3.When iCGI-S=1 was regarded as remission, the area under the receiver operating curve(ROC)of CUDOS was 0.97(P<0.001).A score of 14/15 as the optimal cutoff point was suggested when screening for major depression. When HAMD-17≤7 was regarded as remission, the area under the ROC of CUDOS was 0.97(P<0.001),the results showed that the best cut-off score was 14/15 points. Conclusion:The Chinese version of the CUDOS is an effective and reliable self-administered questionnaire to evaluate both symptoms of depression and the outcome of MDD.The optimal cut-off scores of 14/15 is recommended for identifying patients in remission. The scale can be used for evaluation of therapeutic effects and scientific research, and it is worthy of further application and popularization. |
