The Impact Of Narrative Nursing In Obstetric Care For Primiparas

Objective:To explore the influence of narrative nursing in the natural delivery of primiparas,and to provide clinical evidence for the application of narrative nursing in natural delivery.Methods:Non-randomized controlled trial was performed.60 primiparas who were admitted to the local hospital from February to April 2019 for natural childbirth were selected as the control group,received the routine obstetric natural childbirth nursing care;60 primiparas who were admitted from May to July 2019 were selected as the intervention group,and narrative nursing intervention was given besides the routine natural childbirth nursing.The extent of anxiety,pain,delivery experience,success rate of first breastfeeding,and the total length of labor were evaluated and compared between the two groups.Results:There were 113 patients accepted to the study in total.56 participants were assigned to the intervention group and 57 participants were assigned to the control group.The difference of pain scores in incubation period and active period between groups is statistically significant(5.80±0.75vs6.33±0.51,p=0.000;7.88±0.76vs8.51±0.50,p=0.000);compared with the control group,the patients in intervention group have lower antenatal anxiety score(45.88±4.72vs56.86 ± 7.74,p=0.000),shorter total length of labor(8.69±1.80vs10.24±2.03,p=0.000),higher success rate of first breastfeeding(87.50%vs63.16%,p=0.003),and better delivery experience(51.21±6.71vs42.32±6.41,p=0.000).Conclusion:Narrative nursing can effectively relieve the pain and anxiety of primipara in some extent,optimize the experience of primipara,and improve the success rate of first breastfeeding and shorten the total length of labor.This is a preliminary study to apply narrative nursing in the obstetric care.The efforts make the practice of humanistic spirit feasible,but also establish the confidence of natural labor for parents,improve the experience of labor for primipara as well.
