A Practical Study On Relieving Psychological Pressure Of Breast Cancer Patients

According to statistics from China’s latest cancer report 2019,there were about 3.929 million cases of malignant tumors and 2.338 million deaths in 2015.The annual incidence of malignant tumors increased by about 3.9% and the mortality rate increased by about 2.5%,among which breast cancer was the first malignant tumor in women.Although with the progress of medical technology,the recovery rate of patients is constantly improving,but patients still face great challenges in the treatment process,among which patients with poor coping will produce different degrees of psychological stress,affecting the physical recovery and health status.In this study,the case study method was used to study the breast cancer patients in the first department of breast surgery of Y hospital in yunnan province.The method to relieve the psychological pressure of breast cancer patients was explored by using the theories and methods of social work specialty.The author conducted a survey on the health knowledge needs of 50 breast cancer patients in a department outside the breast gland.60 patients were evaluated for psychological stress,and the results showed that 45% of them had high psychological stress and 3.33% had high psychological stress.For this reason,the author USES the stress system model theory to analyze the causes of psychological stress in breast cancer patients,mainly including the different stages of the patients,the individual’s personality characteristics are more sensitive and fragile,the weak economic capacity and the lack of social support network support.According to the interviews,the psychological pressure of the patients is mainly manifested in the doubt of the cure of the disease,the transformation of the physiological pressure brought by the treatment into psychological pressure,economic pressure and the realization of self-worth.Then,in the practical stage,the research objects were intervened according to the cognitive behavior theory and social support theory.The results show that in order to alleviate the psychological stress of breast cancer patients,medical social workers can use case work method to intervene in aspects of disease cognition,family relationship,resource link and social support.Finally,the author puts forward some Suggestions based on the research process and reflection: local governments should strengthen the implementation of policies related to medical social work;Promoting transparency in medical information;Social workers in hospitals should strengthen the basic knowledge of nursing in this field and improve their own service capacity.At the same time,medical social workers should not only pay attention to the situation of patients during hospital treatment,but also unite community resources to extend the scope of medical social work services and consolidate the service effect.To train patients’ skills,increase their employment opportunities,participate in rehabilitation volunteer activities,and realize personal value.
