Analysis Of The Impact Of Cross-border M&A Of Medical Service Companies On Their Performance

As an important industry related to people’s livelihood,the development of the medical service industry benefits each of us.With the increasing intensification of my country’s population and the sudden new epidemic situation,people’s demand for medical services has further increased,and the medical service industry has also ushered in new development opportunities.As a very important way of foreign direct investment,cross-border mergers and acquisitions can help enterprises obtain important development resources in the short term and quickly enter the international market.For medical service companies,cross-border mergers and acquisitions are also one of the important ways to seize development opportunities.However,due to relatively few cases of cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the medical services industry,its development is still in its infancy.Therefore,it is necessary to study the performance of cross-border M & A in the medical service industry.In this paper,through a combination of case analysis and empirical analysis,in-depth research on the impact of cross-border mergers and acquisitions on the performance of medical service companies.First of all,this article uses the case of Aier Ophthalmology merger and acquisition of European ophthalmology leader Clínica Baviera,S.A.as an introduction.After analyzing its mergers and acquisitions,it has been found that the profitability of Aier Ophthalmology has not significantly improved in the short term;The scale effect and synergy effect have been initially formed,which is conducive to the future development of enterprises.In order to further study whether cross-border mergers and acquisitions can have a positive impact on the performance of medical service companies,this paper selects listed medical service companies from 2008 to 2018 as a research sample,cross-border mergers and acquisitions as the research object,and select relevant variables.The results show that there is a causal relationship between cross-border M & A and the performance of medical service companies.After using the propensity score matching method to weaken the endogenous problem,the above conclusion is still established,proving that cross-border mergers and acquisitions can improve the performance level of medical service companies and promote the development of the industry.Finally,this paper combines the analysis results,summarizes and combs the relevant experience and lessons of medical service companies in cross-border mergers and acquisitions,and provides references for my country’s medical service companies to carry out cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the future.
