Objective To investigate the value of dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasonography quantitative and semi-quantitative analysis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and inflammatory lesions.Materials and methods Eighteen 4-week-old nude mice,half male and half female,were randomly divided into two groups.After building two models,when the maximum diameter of the mass was 5-10 mm,the nude mice were anesthetized,and two-dimensional gray-scale ultrasound images and ultrasound contrast dynamic video of the two groups were collected respectively.Analysis was conducted by two doctors from ultrasound departments with rich experience in ultrasound diagnosis,two groups of ultrasound contrast images were collected at the points of 0s,10 s,20s and 30 s.Ultrasound contrast dynamic video offline analysis was used to obtain the block perfusion indicators of CNE-1 group and inflammation group: peak intensity(PI),Slope,time to peak(TTP),mean transit time(MTT),Area,Area wash in(AWI),Area wash out(AWO).Parametric contrast time of arrival imaging(Parametric micro-flow Imaging,P-MFI)was analyzed.Collecting the tumor tissue of CNE-1 group and inflammation group from nude mice for CD31 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor(VEGF)immunohistochemical staining,then counted the microvessel density(MVD)and VEGF positive rate,analyzed the correlation between the results of MVD or VEGF positive rate and the quantitative parameters of CEUS.Results The PI,Area,AWI and Slope of the quantitative parameters of the CNE-1 group and the inflammation group were significantly different(P<0.05),and were highly positively correlated with MVD and the positive rates of VEGF,respectively(P <0.05).When the P-MFI cut-off value was 2.5,the area under the curve(AUC)of the receiver’s operating characteristic curve(ROC)was 0.972,the sensitivity was 100%,and the specificity was 83.3%.Conclusion Based on the analysis of the perfusion characteristics of CEUS and P-MFI,we believe that CEUS can differentially diagnose NPC and inflammatory lesions.Therefore,CEUS combined with P-MFI technology has great clinical application value for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of NPC.
