| Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the females around the world, which seriously threatens the life and health of women.Breast cancers may exhibit dramatic differences in clinic behavior due to their heterogenousity and complexity.Hence,in spite of the improvement of diagnosis and therapeutic treatment for breast cancers in recent years, there is still very limited efficacy for some types of breast cancer, especially triple negative breast cancer(TNBC).Previous study indicated that signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)is constitutively activated in many types of cancers including breast cancer. It can regulate the transcription of genes that involving in cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, thereby promotes tumor growth and metastasis. Our lab found a new protein MS9,which can suppress the phosphorylation of STAT3 in breast cancer cells, and therefore inhibit breast cancer growth. In this study,we introduced exogenous MS9 gene into MMTV-PyMT,a spontaneous TNBC mouse model, using adeno-associated virus(AAV)-based gene delivery vectors to effectively block the breast tumorigenesis in mice.Because the safety and effectiveness of AAV delivery system has already been proved in many clinical trials, our study thus provided a new method and strategy for breast cancer therapy. |
