BackgroundPI-RADS v1 was developed to predict the presence of PCa on histopathology. To address the limitations of v1,second version of PI-RADS was introduced, which has proved to better predictor of detection of prostate cancer(PCa)and their inter-observer agreement and practicability.AimTo conduct a systematic review of the studies to compare the diagnostic accuracy of v1 and v2 for the detection of prostate cancer(PCa)and their inter-observer agreement and practicability.Material and MethodsMEDLINE and PUBMED,GOOGLE SCHOLAR databases were searched up to March 30th,2018.We included diagnostic accuracy studies that used PI-RADSv2 for PCa detection, using prostatectomy or biopsy as the reference standard.Head to-head comparison between PI-RADSvl and PI-RADSv2 was performed for available studiesConclusionPI-RADSv2 showed good performance for the detection of PCa compared to PI-RADS vl because it has the advantage of providing well-defined instructions on how to determine the overall assessment category.
