The Influence Of Emotional Processing For Women With Depression By Treatment Of Xuefuzhuyu Pills—A Study Of ERPs

Objection To observe the cerebral activation induced by the facial emotional pictures in depressions before-after treatment of Xuefuzhuyu pill.To prove out the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of depression,as well as find out its mechanism.Method Using the SDS、CESD,filter out the depression.Using the SAS,removed the anxiety from the depression.At last,sixteen female students who meet the DSM-Ⅳdiagnosis of Dysthymia are selected as objects for this study.The event-related potentials was as tools.In the Face Expression Task,the stimuli include three facial emotional expressions(happy,neutral,and sad).To collect the ERP data 7 days before and after therapy of Xuefuzhuyu pills and analyze the difference by amplitude and latency of N170.Repeated measures ANOVA was used to analysis before-after treatment and interaction during the three emotional faces.Result(1)The result of Psychological measurement before and after treatment had a statistically significant difference.(2)Before and after treatment,the reaction was no significantly difference.The reaction that before and after treatment of the three expressions stimulate was found no significant.Any two of three facial emotional expression stimuli reaction before the treatment were observed significant by LSD.After treatment,however,the reaction between happy and neutral、happy and sad were significantly difference.The reaction of sad and neutral was found no significant.The correct rates of neutral and sad before and after treatment were both found significant.The correct rate after treatment was bigger then that before.Before treatment,the correct rates between happy and neutral were observed significant.However,the correct rate between happy and sad、neutral and sad were no significantly difference.(3)N170 component of ERPs,At T5 electrode,the amplitude of neutral and sad before and after treatment were both found significant,(P<0.05).The amplitude after treatment was bigger then before.At T6 electrode,the amplitude of sad before and after treatment were both found significant,(P<0.05).The latency of happy before and after treatment was found significant,(P<0.05).After treatment,the latency between the three facial expression stimuli tends to significant.(4)Interaction:At T5 electrode,the latency of the treatment and facial expression were interaction,but the main effect was both no significant.For the amplitude,the main effect treatment was found significant,but two main effects have no interaction.The main effect treatment of happy latency was observed significant;however,the main effect of hemisphere and treatment was not found interaction.For the latency of neutral and sad,the main effect of hemisphere were both significant,the two effects of hemisphere and treatment have interaction.Conclusion The left temporal lobe occipital had obvious changed before and after treatment by Xuefuzhuyu pills.After treatment,the attention for stimuli sad was reduced.For the stimuli happy,the inhibition was decrease.The symptom for depression was alleviated to prove the medicine Xuefuzhuyu was curative for depression.
