Objective: This study aims to investigate the blood pentamer 3(PTX3),neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR),triiodothyronine(FT3)in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of COPD and the correlation with lung function,to evaluate the diagnostic value of blood PTX3,NLR,FT3 in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.Methods: From June 2018 to September 2019,patients with COPD who were hospitalized and reexamined in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, and healthy people who had physical examinations in the hospital during the same period were. They were divided to three groups :AECOPD group,SCOPD group, healthy control group.Compare the levels of blood PTX3,NLR,FT3,and lung function indexes [percent forced expiratory volume occupancy capacity(FEV1 / FVC),FEV1 as a percentage of expected value(FEV1 pre)] in each group, and analyze each index by Pearson Correlation with lung function.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting the prognosis of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and area under ROC curve(AUC)were used to analyze the value of blood PTX3,NLR,FT3 in predicting the prognosis of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.Results:The blood PTX3 and NLR in the AECOPD group were higher than the SCOPD group, and the FT3,FEV1 /FVC and FEV1 pre were lower than the SCOPD group with statistically significant(p<0.05)difference;PTX3 and NLR were negatively correlated with FEV1 / FVC and FEV1 pre with statistically significant(p<0.05)difference;FT3 was positively correlated with FEV1 / FVC and FEV1 pre;survivors had higher FT3 than those who died,PTX3 and NLR were lower than those who died with statistically significant(p<0.05)difference;High FT3 is one of the related protective factors for mortality, high PTX3 and high NLR are related risk factors for mortality with statistically significant(p<0.05)difference;the prognosis AUC PTX3> NLR> FT3,with statistically significant(p<0.05)difference.Conclusion:Elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease have elevated serum PTX3 and NLR levels, which are related risk factors for death. They are significantly related to the severity of lung function damage, while FT3 levels are reduced.High levels of FT3 may be protective factors for death. Therefore, blood PTX3,NLR,and FT3 are helpful for the diagnosis and treatment of elderly patients with acute exacerbation of COPD,and can predict the patient’s mortality to a certain extent.
