| Objective:Although the financial crisis originated from economic problems,it is related to various social problems and has the characteristics of wide impact and great intensity. The development of health services is closely related to the economic and social environment.Various social contradictions and economic problems caused by the global financial crisis are affected and restricted each other. In 2008,the Chinese government issued a series of policies and measures to expand domestic demand and promote economic growth. In 2009,Chinese government launched a new round of Medical and Health System Reforms, and then launched the Healthy China Initiative. This research combines qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze the impact of the global financial crisis on China’s national health indicators, compares the impact of national health in different income categories on the global financial crisis, and analyzes the impact of personal economic conditions on health before and after the global financial crisis The impact mechanism provides suggestions on health development strategies for my country to cope with the economic fluctuations and external shocks..Methods:Collect and analyze the domestic and foreign literature on the subject of "financial crisis and health" as comprehensively and systematically as possible.Using the autoregressive distribution lag model and the error correction model by EVIEWS10.0,taking into account the macroeconomic indicators, using the time series data from 1991 to 2019 of China and countries of different income categories, the long-term effects and the short-term effects between the variables were estimated.Using a non-recursive model for path analysis by AMOS 24.0,compared the path affecting national health before and after the outbreak of the global financial crisis. Results:At the macro level, the autoregressive distribution lag model and the error correction model was used to estimate the impact of the global financial crisis on the national health of different countries.Firstly, the global financial crisis has not been found to have a long-term impact on my country’s national health, but it has a short-term impact and has a certain time lag.National health indicators also have their own lag.The impact coefficient of the global financial crisis on China’s average life expectancy during the current period was-0.945,but it was 0.277 and 0.236 in the first and second lag phases;the impact coefficient of the global financial crisis on the mortality rate of children under five in China during the current period was-0.100.However,it was changed to 0.096 and 0.103 in the first and second phases;the impact of the global financial crisis on China’s maternal mortality rate has a certain time lag,and its impact is only reflected in the first and second phases, and the impact coefficients are 1.954 and 4.3 1 5.Secondly,the global financial crisis has different impacts on national health in countries with different income categories.Germany,a high-income country, has the least negative impact. The long-term effects of the global financial crisis on the average life expectancy of countries in different income categories are not statistically significant, and the short-term effects are all negative.Thirdly, compared with the average life expectancy, the under-five mortality rate and the maternal mortality rate are more affected by the global financial crisis, and both long-term and short-term,the negative impact on maternal and child health indicators in various countries accounts for more.At the micro level, the differences in national health and health behaviors before and after the global financial crisis are statistically significant.Use a non-recursive model to further analyze the path that affects national health before and after the global financial crisis. Before and after the outbreak of the global financial crisis, there are differences in the mechanisms by which personal economic conditions affect health and the intermediary effects of harmful behaviors.Firstly,in terms of surrounding illnesses,no indirect influence path was established alter the outbreak of the global financial crisis;no direct path was established for personal annual income to affect the surrounding illnesses;the direct path coefficient of unemployment on the surrounding illnesses remained unchanged at 0.81;The direct path coefficient of household registration to the surrounding illnesses increased from 0.02 1 to 0.036.Secondly,with regard to BMI overweight or obesity, before and after the outbreak of the global financial crisis, the path of personal economic status on BMI overweight or obesity is relatively more complicated. The number of significant paths has increased, with direct effects and indirect effects mediated by harmful health behaviors coexisting, but the effect value has increased and decreased. Conclusion:Under the background of global financial crisis,China’s national health had both positive and negative changes. At the macro level, the global financial crisis had no long-term impact on my country’s different national health indicators, but the short-term impact was different and has a certain time-varying nature. The level of socio-economic development was closely related to China’s national health indicators.Among countries with different income categories,Germany,a high-income country, had the least negative impact from the global financial crisis. However, the health status of different income groups of countries had deteriorated in the short term, and the negative impact on the health of women and children was greater. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the health status of women, children and other vulnerable groups. At the micro level, before and after the outbreak of the global financial crisis, unemployment would directly increase the risk of illness within four weeks. After the outbreak of the global financial crisis, the total effect of unemployment on BMI overweight or obesity decreased. The gap of the risk of illness within four weeks caused by the difference in personal income narrowed, but the gap between urban and rural areas increased. We need to treat the positive changes in national health under the background of the global financial crisis dialectically. It is important to improve a multi-level sustainable social security system, deepen the reform of the medical and health system, improve the emergency management system for public health emergencies, and pay attention to health inequality and non-economic factors that affect health. |
