Background and objective:The incidence of common bile duct stones(C BDS)has increased in China in recent years, reaches 8%-10%.Endoscopic retro-grde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)has become the first choice for the treatment of CBDS,due to its advantages of small trauma, low cost, and short h-ospitalization.However,ERCP related complications have brought great trouble-s to clinic. The recurrence of CBDS is a common long term complication after ERCP.It is reported that the recurrence of CBDS is 4%-26%.CBDS recurr-ence increases the burden of patients. The purpose of this study is to investig-ate th-e risk factors of CBDS recurrence after ERCP,and to provide the theor-eticalbasis for prevention recurrence of CBDS after stone removal by ERCP.Methods:A total of 229 patients with CBDS who had been treated by ER CP in our hospital were enrolled between January 2016 and May 2020.Accordi-ng to the recurrence of CBDS,the patients were divided into a recurrence gro-up and a nonrecurrence group. The clinical characteristics of CBDS patients w-ere recorded.Results:1、229 patients, including 137 males and 92 females, with an average age of 61.40±16.70 years were enrolled.CBDS recurrence in 42 patients(18.3%).Among them,30 cases were male and 12 cases were female. The average age of the 42 cases was 62.29±16.10 years.2、The χ2 test results showed that history of diabetes, cholecystitis or/and cholangitis, hepatitis B,periampullary diverticulum, diameter of common bile duct≥13mm,EST,number of CBDS≥2,stone size≥1cm are statistically signifi-cant.3、The results showed that diabetes(OR=2.633,95%CI:1.113-6.227,P=0.028),cholecystitis or/and cholangitis(OR=4.774,95%CI:1.881-12.115,P=0.001),hepatitis B(OR=9.744,95%CI:1.960-48.441,P=0.005),diameter of common bile duct≥13mm(OR=2.800,95%CI:1.068-7.343,P=0.036),number of stones≥2(OR=3.899,95%CI:1.637-9.289,P=0.002),stone size≥1cm(OR=2.985,95%CI:1.074-8.301,P=0.036)are independent risk factors for the recurrence of C BDS after ERCP.Conclusion:The recurrence rate of CBDS after ERCP was 18.3%,and the recurrence time was 15.31 months, history of diabetes, hepatitis B,cholecystiti-s or/and cholangitis, diameter of common bile duct≥13mm,number of stones≥2 and stones size≥1cm are independent risk factors for the recurrence of C BDS after ERCP.
