ObjectiveIn order to explore the influence factors of abnormal bone mineral density among Tibetans in Tibet, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis of Tibetans.MethodsWith informed consent, the subjects which were over 40 years old in Lhasa(altitude 3600)and Shigatse(altitude 4300)by the cluster sampling method. The subjects were Tibetan within three generations, and the subjects were clear consciousness and able to walk independently. The content of the questionnaire included general conditions and dietary conditions.A total of 771 valid subjects were obtained in Lhasa(including 305 males and 466 women);487 valid subjects were obtained in Shigatse(including 153 males and 334womens).The body composition were measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis. The bone density were measured by ultrasonic bone densitometer. All the data obtained were imported into the Ogilvy Health Fitness Management System. The data were analyzed by SPSS21.0 software. The influence factors of abnormal bone mineral density were analyzed by independent sample t-test,chi-square test, and binary logistic regression analysis.Results1.The reliability and validity of the scale used in this article were good.in Lhasa and Shigatse, the cronbach coefficients was 0.740 and 0.713 respectively, and the validity was 0.763 and 0.710 respectively.2.The incidence of abnormal bone mineral density in men(37.9%)was significantly higher than that in women(25.4%)(P<0.05)in Shigatse, but there was no significantly in Lhasa.Comparing between two regions, the incidence of abnormal bone mineral density in Shigatse(29.4%)was significantly higher than that in Lhasa(19.5%)(P<0.05).Those indicated that the altitude was higher the incidence of abnormal bone mineral density was higher.3.The results of the questionnaire survey showed: in Lhasa age, drinking, appetite, cooked meals and food intake were correlated with bone mineral density in men(P < 0.05),while age and menopause were correlated with bone mineral density in(P<0.05);in Shigatse age, education level, appetite were correlated with bone mineral density in men(P < 0.05),while age, menopause, food intake, appetite, appetite, frequency of eating fruits and vegetables were correlated with bone mineral density in women(P<0.05).4.The results of the relationship between body composition and bone mineral density showed:in Lhasa there was no significant difference between the normal bone density group and the abnormal bone density group in men, however the data(include body mass index, lean body mass, trunk fat mass, total body muscle mass, trunk muscle mass, left upper limb muscle mass, and right upper limb muscle mass)in the normal bone density group were significantly higher than those in the abnormal bone density group in women;in Shigatse height and right lower limb muscle mass in the abnormal bone density group were more than those in the normal bone density group(P<0.05),the indexes(include body muscle mass, trunk muscle mass, left upper limb muscle mass, and right upper limb muscle mass)in the normal bone density group was significantly higher than those in the abnormal bone density group.5.The results of logistic regression showed: in Lhasa age and drinking were risk factors and OR values were 1.040 and 0.422 respectively in men,age and trunk muscle mass were risk factors and OR values were 1.120 and0.779 respectively in women;in Shigatse age was risk factors and OR values was 1.059 in men,age fruit and vegetable consumption and trunk muscle mass, were risk factors and OR values and OR were 1.165,2.490,0.778 respectively.Conclusions1.Age,drinking,and low consumption of fruits and vegetables were risk factors for abnormal bone mineral density in Tibetan, and trunk muscle mass was a protective factor for abnormal bone density in Tibetan.2.Altitude hypoxia was an influencing factor of abnormal bone mineral density. The higher the altitude, the higher the incidence of abnormal bone mineral density.
