Objective:To explore the factors of adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP and to study the curative effect of Rhizoma Drynariae on adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP,so as to provide reference for clinical practice.Methods:A retrospective analysis was made of 234 cases of OVCF treated with PVP from October 2015 to October 2017 in the Department of Spinal Orthopedics,Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Clinical,imaging and procedure related factors(sex,age,body mass index,bone mineral density,the location of the first fracture vertebrae,the number of the first fracture vertebrae,the recovery rate of the anterior edge height of the injured vertebrae,the amount of bone cement injected,the leakage of bone cement and the treatment of antiosteoporosis)for each group were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis.To observe the rate of adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP in patients with Qianggu Capsule(the constituent is total flavonoids of Rhizoma Drynariae)+Calcium+Vitamin D,Calcium+Vitamin D and non-antiosteoporosis with Chi-square test analysisResults:Of all the patients,32 cases had adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP and the refracture rate was 13.7%.Low bone density(P=0.001),high recovery rate of anterior height of injured vertebrae(P=0.019),the leakage of bone cement(P=0.005)and first multiple vertebral fractures(P=0.001)were risk factors for refracture.Anti-osteoporosis therapy(P=0.006)is a protective factor for refracture.Others were not associated with refracture(P<0.05).The refracture rate of patients treated with Qianggu Capsule+Calcium Agent+Vitamin D was lower than that of patients treated with Calcium Agent+Vitamin D and without antiosteoporosis treatment.Chi-square test showed that there were significant differences(P=0.009).Conclusion:Low bone density,first multiple vertebral fractures,high recovery rate of anterior height of injured vertebrae and the leakage of bone cement were independent risk factors for adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP.Antiosteoporosis therapy is a protective factor for adjacent vertebral refracture after PVP.After PVP,taking Rhizoma Drynariae can reduce the incidence of adjacent vertebral refracture.
