| OBJECTIVEIn terms of the knowledge of impaired wound healing,a clinical research on phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor(PMT),a clinic-pathologic entity, which is an extremely rare and distinctive, was made.PMT may lead to non-healing wound problem, and this makes it necessary to know more about PMT so as to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.By the research, the possible mechanism of wounding by PMT in cutaneous tissue was tried to know initiatively.METHODS1 A summary on the clinical features, pathology and development of PMT was made from the literatures.2 By collecting clinical data of the patients with PMT,we got the laboratory examinations, blood samples and tissue samples.3 HE staining was used to know the histopathological characteristic of PMT.Immunohistochemistry was adopted to observe the markers(FGF-23,D2-40,CD56,KP-1,PGM-1,S100,and CD31)of PMT related wound problem.Enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA)was employed to observe the level of plasm FGF23.RT-PCR was used to compare the expression of gene FGF23 between the two groups.RESULTS1 Although there were a majority of literature about the mechanism of PMT,however, the definite mechanism of PMT was not clear so far.Research revealed that FGF23 plays an important role in the process of PMT.2 There were no abnormal of the patients’ calcium and phosphorus metabolis examinations. The radiologic examinations came to normal after thorough remove the tumor by surgery.3 HE staining showed typical osteoclast-like giant cells.FGF-23,D2-40,CD56,KP-1,and PGM-1 were positive while S100 and CD31 were negative in the test of immunohistochemistry.ELISA indicated that the circulatory FGF23 level was relatively high in patient with PMT and rapidly decreased after remove of the tumor. On m RNA level,FGF23 was increased in PMT group.CONCLUSIONS1 PMT was a slow-growing lesion. It often developed in special or atypical sites. So the diagnosis of PMT was difficult.2 The histopathological examinations could find the typical characteristics of PMT.Radiologic examinations were propitious to confirming the location of the tumor.3 The plasma FGF23 analysis could confirm the diagnosis of PMT.D2-40 and CD56 tests could be anjuctive to the diagnosis of PMT.4 The non-healing wound related to PMT might be attributed to the invasive growth of tumor.5 The decrease of endothelial cells could lead to non-healing wound in PMT patient. |
