"Jiaobai",an unique aquatic vegetable,is produced by the symbiosis of Ustilago esculenta and Z.latifolia.Its edible organ is rich in nutrition, deeply loved by the people, and has remarkable economic benefits, has become the second largest aquatic vegetable in China. It was believed that the culm gall enlargement time were controled by both photoperiod and low temperature, but its regulation mechanism is unknown.Studies have shown that CONSTANS(CO)and FLOWER LOCUS T(FT)belong to the CCT gene family and the PEBP(phosphatidyl ethanolamine binding proteins,PEBP)gene family respectively, are the key genes in photoperiodic-induced flowering, rhizome and tuber formation. In this study, the late maturing lines "YD-3" which sensitive to short day(SD)was treated with different temperature and photoperiod to explore the key environmental factors affecting the swollen culm formation of "Jiaobai".After the the predominant role of photoperiod was confirmed, the RNA-Seq and qRT-PCR technology was used to identify in the different expreesed genes between long day(LD)and SD.Furthermore, the whole genome identification and expression pattern analysis of CCT and PEBP gene families were carried out. These results could provide valuable imformation to deeply understand the maturity stages, improve cultivation and breeding technology of "Jiaobai".The results were as follows:1.SD is the key environmental factor to induce the swollen culm formation of "Jiaobai".Under different temperature and photoperiod conditions, the swollen culm formation rate of"Jiaobai" were as follows:LD+high temperature |
