Muscodor is a type of fungus that belongs to the Xylariaceae by producing volatile organic compounds(VOCs)to inhibit the growth of some bacteria,fungi and insects and even kill them.This kind of fungus achieves bacteriostatic effect by producing VOCs and does not directly contact with the target,so it has great application prospects,especially in the application of biological fumigant,which has received extensive attention.In this paper,through the confrontation test between 13 strains of Muscodor and pathogen indicator bacteria,the co-cultivation test of Muscodor and Arabidopsis,the analysis of active components of VOCs,and comparing the application effects of different strains as biological fumigants on rice blast control,identified a with promising application.The specific research results are as follows:1.Among the 13 strains of Muscodor,Y-L-1-5-2-4,ZJLQ024,M21,Y-S-2-5-3-2 can accelerate the growth rate by using activated carbon to adsorb VOCs produced by the them.The bipartite plate confrontation test verified that Muscodor W-T-1-4-4,Y-S-2-5-3-2,M153 had an inhibitory effect on the rice blast fungus Guyll,and activated carbon adsorption treatment did not affect the bacteriostatic effect.Among them,Muscodor Y-S-25-3-2 has the strongest inhibitory effect on Guy 11,and 8 strains of Muscodor such as Y-S-25-3-2 can effectively inhibit the growth of airborne bacteria.2.Using scanning electron microscope to detect the inhibition of Guy1l by VOCs of Muscodor.The mycelium surface of Guy 11 is shrivelled and rough,the thickness of the mycelium is different,the branches become more,the new mycelium presents irregular malformation,and even the occurrence of overflow of internal solution causes the death of the mycelium or the appearance of the groove of the mycelium,which seriously affected the mycelium morphology of Guy 11.3.After co-cultivation of Arabidopsis seedlings and Muscodor VOCs,the root length varies,the number of lateral roots increases,and the root diameter becomes thicker,the VOCs of Muscodor ZJLQ070 significantly inhibited its growth,while the biomass of Arabidopsis thaliana increased after VOCs treatment of 6 Muscodor including Y-S-2-5-3-2,and the lateral roots increased.4.Analyze the active components of VOCs produced by 13 strains of Muscodor,and find that the main active components of different Muscodor are different,and 6 strains of Muscodor including Y-S-2-5-3-2 have found active ingredients that have a promoting effect on plants and an inhibitory effect on pathogen.5.The wheat fermented product of Muscodor W-T-1-4-4 and Y-S-2-5-3-2 can 100%inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi such as Penicillium spp.,Botrytis variabilis.It has good prospects in applications such as antiseptic and leaf spot disease prevention.6.The wheat fermented products of Muscodor Y-S-2-5-3-2 and W-T-1-4-4 can effectively inhibit Guy 11 from infecting isolated rice leaves,and at the same time it caneffectively prevent Guy 11 from infecting live rice in the simulated closed environment.And Muscodor Y-S-2-5-3-2 promotes the growth of rice,so it can be used as a biological fumigant and has potential application prospects in biological control.
