In order to determine the suitable sustainable grazing utilization model in typical grassland areas of Xilingol League.From 2019 to 2020,a series of warm-season grazing experiments with different grazing-beginning periods and duration of grazing period were designed in the typical grassland area of eastern Xilingol League.By measuring basic indicators such as grassland coverage and biomass,and calculating forage regrowth,the αdiversity of plant communities was used to evaluate the response of grassland vegetation to different grazing methods.At the same time,the economical and practical feed formulations were screened out by feeding with different feed ratios in the cold season.Starting from the overall production process of grassland animal husbandry,we systematically designed a balanced grazing plan for forage and livestock in the summer-autumn warm seasons with the amount of available forage as the restrictive index,as well as countermeasures for winter housing.The effects of different grazing periods and rest periods on the yield,regeneration capacity and biodiversity of the grassland were clarified,and then the grazing period and the non-grazing period were determined.The main results and conclusions of the study are as follows:1.In the typical grassland area of Xilingol,it is better to control the rest grazing period to 2 months(April to May)in consideration of basic indicators of grassland vegetation,biodiversity and regeneration rate.Therefore,grazing activities should start in June.The grazing period should end in December according to grassland growth dynamics and livestock weight changes.2.During the grazing period,the grazing days of the grassland can be calculated according to the daily feed of domestic animals and the actual productivity of the grassland.The implementation of zoning rotation grazing can effectively utilize the forage production and maintain the ecological health of the grassland,so that the productivity of the grassland can be continued.At the same time,in the grazing design,the forage land of non-grazing period was reserved and the grass was mowed timely,so that the output of the forage land could effectively supplement the gap of forage and reduce the feeding cost during non-grazing period.3.According to the grazing cycle,the duration of non-grazing period is about 5months(from January to May),during which maintenance feeding is recommended to save feed costs.Caragana korshinskii feed products can be considered as roughage,which can effectively maintain livestock weight,and cost-effective.The preliminary conclusion was drawn that the grazing period in Xilingol typical grassland should be from June to December,during which the livestock grazing was dominated by rotation grazing.The non-grazing period should be from January to May,during which the livestock should be maintenance feeding.In this model,the grassland productivity can be effectively maintained in the grazing period,and the production cost can be reduced in the non-grazing period,so as to realize the sustainable utilization of grassland resources.
