The effects of hydrolyzed poultry feather(HPF)meal instead of fish meal(FM)on the growth performance, muscle nutrition and quality of Pacific White Shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei). In the experiment,0%,2%,4%,6% and 8% feather meal were used to replace fish meal, which was divided into three groups: Dieta, dietb, dietc, dietd and diete, and 4%hydrolyzed feather meal was used to replace fish meal, which was divided into six groups. Each feed was fed with 5 replicates,30 prawns per replicate, and the initial weight was 0.6g.The results show that:(1)With the increase of protein substitution level such as hydrolyzed feather powder, the survival rate of Litopenaeus vannamei showed a downward trend, while the feed coefficient showed an upward trend, and there was a significant difference when the addition level increased to 6%(P<0.05).The survival rate and feed coefficient of 4% fish meal replaced by hydrolyzed feather meal were not significantly different from that of 4% fish meal replaced by isoproteins.Compared with 6% fish meal replaced by isoproteins, the feed coefficient was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the survival rate was not significantly different. There was no significant effect of hydrolyzed feather meal instead of fish meal on the weight gain rate of Litopenaeus vannamei(P>0.05),but it showed a downward trend. The apparent digestibility of crude protein, total energy and total phosphorus was significantly affected by hydrolyzed feather meal instead of fish meal(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of crude protein and total energy decreased with the increase of the level of hydrolyzed feather powder, and when the level of hydrolyzed feather powder was 6% and 8%,crude protein and total energy decreased significantly(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of total phosphorus increased significantly with the addition of hydrolyzed feather powder(P<0.05).In conclusion, when the substitution level of hydrolyzed feather powder is 4%,there is no significant effect on growth(2)HPF significantly affected the protein content in the muscle of Pacific White Shrimp, and the protein content decreased significantly when the fish meal was replaced by 6% and 8%HPF(P<0.05).Less than 4% HPF had no significant effect on muscle moisture and fat content of Litopenaeus vannamei(P>0.05).There was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the fatty acid composition of muscle when adding hydrolyzed feather powder. The addition of high level HPF significantly reduced the muscle quality of Pacific White Shrimp. The muscle tenderness of Pacific White Shrimp was significantly decreased by 6% and 8% of HPF(P<0.05).The water content and cooking loss of muscle system of Pacific White Shrimp were significantly increased by 6% HPF(P<0.05).4% HPF in feed did not affect the muscle quality of Pacific White Shrimp(P>0.05).In conclusion, when the substitution level of hydrolyzed feather powder is 4%,it has no significant effect on muscle quality, and it will not affect muscle quality on the basis of reducing feed cost.To sum up: under the condition of ensuring the healthy growth of Pacific White Shrimp and not affecting the muscle quality, the feed cost was reduced as much as possible, and the maximum economic benefit was obtained. The optimum level of replacing fish meal with HPF in the feed of Pacific White Shrimp was 4%.
