With the continuous development of intensive and modernized dairy farming in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,the ever-expanding scale of pastures has brought new challenges to the management of dairy cows.At present,most of the pastures still use the traditional monitoring method of artificial cows,and the staff cannot accurately and quickly determine the location of individual cows with physiological abnormalities.However,the monitoring equipment for individual positioning of dairy cows in China is still in the experimental stage,and the related products are not mature enough to be promoted in a large scale in practical application.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study and popularize the cow positioning equipment and realize the information management of cows.In this paper,combining ZigBee technology with positioning algorithm based on Received Signal Strength Indication(RSSI),a set of low-power positioning equipment for individual cows was designed based on the actual demand of Yibeikang Dairy Farm in Hohhot City.On this basis,the statistical monitoring of activity of dairy cows was realized.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)In-depth study of ZigBee positioning algorithm.After comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various positioning schemes,this paper adopts ZigBee positioning algorithm based on RSSI ranging,and selects Shadowing model as the RSSI ranging model.Aiming at the error problem in the process of RSSI ranging,an improved Gaussian filter algorithm is designed and an improved weighted centroid location algorithm based on region division is proposed,so as to ensure higher positioning accuracy.(2)According to the actual application requirements of cow positioning,the software and hardware of the system are designed.Firstly,the hardware circuit of each ZigBee node is designed by AD,and the communication flow of nodes is designed by IAR to complete the collection of RSSI values.Then Java language is used to realize the design of the server and the client.The server is responsible for the implementation of the positioning algorithm,and the coordinates are stored in the database.The client calculates the movement distance of the cow by extracting the coordinate data,and presents the positioning information and activity in a graphical interface.The system has been tested,and the average positioning accuracy is 1.663 m,and the maximum positioning error is no more than 3m.The activity data of cows are obtained according to the positioning data.Through the deployment and application in the pasture,the positioning function and activity monitoring of the system are proved to be effective and feasible.
