The region with a natural growing condition providing high yield and high quality of alfalfa in the Hexi Corridor.Recently,through national industrial support policies,the region’s production system has been actively enhanced and improved,the alfalfa planting area has been expanded,alfalfa industry has made significant progress,becoming a backbone of farmers,cooperatives and enterprises-oriented alfalfa productive type body,and have become one of the great the forage production bases in China,promoting the growth of the pasture industry as well as the environmental improvement of Hexi Corridor.However,with the development of the alfalfa industry in this region,the evaluation of three alfalfa productive type body is required to understand the comprehensive effect.This study has been conducted precisely in Yongchang county of Jinchang city,located in the middle of Hexi Corridor.TOPSIS model has been used to analyze the comprehensive effect of three alfalfa productive type body and come up with the following key research conclusions:Firstly,the results showed that:The farmers’age ranges from 51-60 years old,education level below primary school stands for 41.46%,indicating that the old age and degree of literacy characteristic is low.The age of cooperatives and enterprises participants ranges between 41-50 years old,high school education level and above stands for 41.67%,among of them,enterprises specialized studied at college level reaching 50%,indicating the knowledge and specialization characteristic.Through management status characteristic,the farmers average area of alfalfa is 6.86 hm2 with2 years of the average growing period;cooperatives average area of alfalfa is 222.22hm2 with 4 years of average growing period and enterprises average area of alfalfa forage is 512 hm2 with 6 years of the average growing period.The alfalfa planting area of farmers is relatively small,while the planting area of cooperatives and enterprises are large,indicating a trend of large-scale and integrated development.Along with the external environment main characteristics status,all alfalfa productive type body are facing problems as insufficient policy support,financing difficulties,high market risks,lack of agricultural insurance,labor shortages,low levels of machinery and information technology,and short industrial chains.Secondly,the TOPSIS model analysis results showed that the comprehensive impact value is 0.997,0.695 for the company,and 0.036 respectively for cooperatives,enterprises and farmers,indicating that cooperatives have the best comprehensive effect,followed by enterprises,and farmers who have the poor comprehensive effect.Though cooperatives have the best overall impact,they have poor performance in terms of infrastructure change intensity(C22),the scale of land lease(C11)and labor absorption index(C43)is just 0.375 away from the optimum ideal solution.The proximity of two indicators to the optimal ideal solution reached 1.0;the labor input intensity(C13)of farmers was high,the proximity to the optimal ideal solution was 0.481,but the forage production inventory rate(C42)was low,verse the proximity of the ideal solution is up to 0.554.Thirdly,in response to the shortcomings of the comprehensive effects of different alfalfa productive type body,corresponding countermeasures are proposed.Farmers should maintain the planting scale and improve alfalfa quality production.Cooperatives should increase the infrastructures investments,implement advanced technologies of alfalfa production and management,and enhance the standard of management.Enterprises could expand the alfalfa planting area,improve the standard of agriculture machinery and informatization,play the role in the demonstrative driving effect of leading enterprises,establish forage production model development,extend the industrial chains.Briefly,the three alfalfa productive type body should improve the overall impact of alfalfa production and management through technology and model innovation to achieve the target of promoting high-quality alfalfa industry production in the Hexi Corridor. |
