A large amount of agricultural knowledge was produced during the pre-Qin period when entering the agricultural society, and this knowledge contributed to the generation of a batch of agricultural documents. These documents involve various genres such as myths and legends, poems and proverbs, philosophers’ prose, etc.,and record the ideological and political, ritual activities, agricultural production and many other contents in the pre-Qin period. They have been enriched and developed in the process of circulation, and have important research value. This article will carry out a multi-dimensional and diachronic study on the agricultural documents of the pre-Qin period,in order to enrich the research on the agricultural documents of the pre-Qin Dynasty. The first chapter is the sorting and classification of agricultural documents in the pre-Qin period.Firstly,it explains the basic situation of the pre-Qin agricultural literature, and points out that the pre-Qin agricultural literature can be divided into two types:systematic and scattered.Secondly,it classifies, sorts out and examines the important agricultural documents of the pre-Qin period. It is mainly divided into two categories:pre-Qin agricultural books and pre-Qin agricultural poems.According to the text form, the pre-Qin agricultural books can be divided into monographs and chapters. The pre-Qin agricultural poems can also be divided into the agricultural poems in the Book of Songs and the agricultural leisure poems in the pre-Qin classics.Conduct an examination and a brief analysis of each category. The second chapter is from the legend of Shennong to the words of Shennong. On the basis of systematically combing the records of Shennong in the pre-Qin literature,it is pointed out that from the legend of Shennong to the words of Shennong of the peasant family represented by "Shennong",Xu Shi,the two are in the same line in terms of valuing agriculture and the standpoint of valuing the people. But there are changes and differences in the writing of specific content, such as the agricultural significance, requirements for cultivation and social governance. In addition, the Shennong Zheyan of the peasant school added the Yin-Yang and Five Elements thoughts that were not in the legend of Shennong, reflecting the new changes in Shennong’s knowledge and literature in the pre-Qin period. The third chapter is from the legend of Houji to the official of farming. On the basis of combing the legend of Houji in the pre-Qin Dynasty,it is pointed out that the legend of Houji has strong mystery and political significance.By the time of the royal officials, the legendary mystery and agricultural deeds laid the foundation for the worship of the god Houji, and the political meaning in the legend also echoed with the construction of the agricultural officials of Zongzhou. An important manifestation of the official participation in the country’s agricultural and cultural activities is the ceremony of Jitian.Jitian Li is a rich agricultural ritual, around which a batch of agricultural poems have been produced. The agricultural poems recorded people’s knowledge of agricultural production technology from the three aspects of heaven, earth and people. The fourth chapter is a summary of pre-Qin agricultural literature.Taking the representative of the agricultural documents in the pre-Qin period and the concluding author’s "Four articles on Shangnong" and the first of the twelfth period in the "Lii Shi Chunqiu" as a starting point,I will sort out the knowledge and document traditions generated by these agricultural documents. The agricultural policy writing in Shangnong can be traced back to Shangshu-Wuyi,during which it has experienced the addition and development of princes and philosophers. The agricultural land knowledge in "Ren Di"and "Bian Tu" is the inheritance and summary of "Shangshu-Yugong","Zhou Li·Caoren"and other documents. The generation of agricultural records in the first month of the Twelfth Period is closely related to "Xia Xiaozheng","Four Times" and "Youguan" in"Guanzi".
