Although the efficiency of citric acid slag treatment is higher using these traditional methods, these processes are more expensive and lack of renewable resource cycles. Therefore, rational use of resources in citric acid slag treatment is of great significance. The citric acid slag contains nutrients such as true protein, crude protein and cellulose and unpurified citric acid.If it is developed and utilized as a silage additive, which resulting in high economic benefits and far-reaching social significance in advocating a low-carbon,green economy. In current study,we focused on the utilization status of citric acid slag. The effects of different ratios of citric acid slag or combined with lactic acid bacteria on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of pennisetum sinese were studied, and discussed its effect as a silage additive. Then, the effects of different ratios of citric acid slag and molasses on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of alfalfa were studied. The addition ratios and combined addition scheme of citric acid slag with good fermentation quality and aerobic stability were obtained, which provided theoretical support for citric acid slag as silage additive. The study is divided into 3 trials:1.Effect of different ratios of citric acid slag on fermentation quality and aerobic stability of pennisetum sineseThe purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different ratios of citric acid slag on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of pennisetum sinese. The control and three treatments were designed as follow:control(ZCK),1.2%citric acid slag(ZC1),3.6%citric acid slag(ZC3)and 6.0%citric acid slag(ZC5).After 3,6,9,15,30 and 60 days of silage, sampling was carried out to analyze the fermentation quality and aerobic stability. After 60 days, the results showed that all pH values were below 4.2,and ammonia nitrogen/total nitrogen<100 g/kg DM.Compared with the control, the lactic acid content of the 1.2%citric acid slag silage was significantly increased(P<0.05),the ammonia nitrogen/total nitrogen ratio was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the ethanol content was lower, which did not cause poor fermentation.1.2%is the most suitable addition ratio, but all silages have poor aerobic stability.2.Effect of different ratios of citric acid slag and LAB on fermentation quality and aerobic stability of pennisetum sineseThe purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different ratios of citric acid slag and LAB on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of pennisetum sinese. The control and four treatments were designed as follow:control(ZCK),1.2%citric acid slag and LAB(ZL1),3.6%citric acid slag and LAB(ZL3)and 6.0%citric acid slag and LAB(ZL5).After 3,6,9,15,30 and 60 days of silage, sampling was carried out to analyze the fermentation quality and aerobic stability. After 60 days, the results showed that all pH values were below 4.2,and ammonia nitrogen/total nitrogen<100 g/kg DM.Compared with the control, the 3.6%citric acid slag and LAB silage significantly improved aerobic stability(P<0.05),while containing higher lactic acid and lower ammonia nitrogen.Considering comprehensively, the 3.6%citric acid slag and LAB is the most suitable combination.3.Effect of different ratios of citric acid slag and molasses on fermentation quality and aerobic stability of alfalfaThe purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different ratios of citric acid slag and molasses on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of alfalfa. The control and four treatments were designed as follow:control(CK),3%molasses(AM),1.2%citric acid slag and molasses(AM1),3.6%citric acid slag and molasses(AM3)and 6.0%citric acid slag and molasses(AM5).After 3,6,9,15,30 and 45 days of silage, sampling was carried out to analyze the fermentation quality and aerobic stability. After 45 days, the results showed that compared with the control, the 6.0%citric acid slag and molasses silage significantly reduced the pH value and ammonia nitrogen/total nitrogen and significantly increased the lactic acid content(P<0.05).And aerobic stability is better.Considering comprehensively,6.0%citric acid slag and molasses is the most suitable combination.
