Study On The Spatial Form Of Traditional Villages In Nanjing

Traditional villages are the most important production and living units in the age of farming.They have high historical,cultural,artistic and social values.They also reflect the unique local culture and aesthetic taste.As the spatial carrier of the local culture,the traditional villages in Nanjing recorded the succession process of village environment in different periods,which is the concentrated embodiment of the living mode and folk customs in Nanjing area.Due to historical reasons and the influence of industrialization and urbanization,traditional villages in Nanjing have been destroyed or even disappeared to varying degrees.As a result,only a small portion of the vernacular architecture and rural intangible heritage have been preserved.This has seriously influenced the integrity and authenticity of traditional villages.The traditional villages in Nanjing are the main research objects.Mainly from the point of view of design,and using the method of interdisciplinary research.First of all,it is based on the local natural and cultural environment.The formation factors,formation types and spatial form elements of traditional villages in Nanjing are summarized.Secondly,the three most typical traditional villages--Dou Village in Jiangning District,Zhujia Village in Lishui District and Hecheng Village in Gaochun District are taken as the study cases.Evolution from the village’s location layout,space,material culture and non-material cultural landscape four aspects for further research.Finally,according to the status quo and problems of traditional villages in Nanjing.From the perspective of design,the ideas and methods of protection,inheritance,activation and utilization of traditional villages are put forward.On summary,it is found that the spatial form of traditional villages in Nanjing has obvious regional characteristics.In the protection and utilization of villages,measures should be taken according to local conditions to avoid homogenization.At the same time,traditional villages are also the integration of material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage.Both the physical and spiritual aspects need to be taken into account.Traditional villages should be truly and completely protected and inherited.Moreover,the spatial form of traditional villages is always changing dynamically.In the protection and utilization of villages,people should be put in the first place and realize the sustainable development of traditional village.It is hoped that the research direction and content can provide some new ideas and ideas for the study of traditional villages in Nanjing and the development of rural revitalization.
