With the rapid development of precision machinery manufacturing,the requirements of machining surface quality are constantly improving.As one of the important quality indicators of machined surface,waviness is very important to product quality and performance.Recognition and measurement of surface waviness have become an important part of product quality inspection.The recognition method of machining surface waviness is studied in detail in this paper,in order to correctly evaluate the production quality of machined parts surface and further improve the process performance and detection efficiency of products.The main research work includes the following aspects.The characteristics and its causes of machined surface waviness are discussed.Mechanism of the machined surface waviness is analyzed in detail.At the same time,the evaluation criteria of machined surface waviness are summarized and the traditional recognition method of profile waviness is fully studied.A recognition method of machined surface contour waviness based on wavelet decomposition and reconstruction is proposed according to its characteristics and generation rule.The testing platform for machined surface profile data is introduced in detail,including the hardware composition,control system,the equipment parameter setting and the selection of profile measurement parameter.A more reasonable experimental data extraction process is designed at the same time.The contour data testing experiment is carried out,making use of profile roughness test specimens of three typical machined surface,turning,flat milling and cylindrical grinding.A series of data prepossessing analysis experiments are carried out on the collected machined surface profile data,including noise reduction,trend removal and smoothing.It lays a foundation for further surface contour waviness recognition.The power spectrum analysis of typical machined surface profile data is carried out in detail.The boundary frequency and wavelet decomposition hierarchy between surface contour geometry error,surface waviness and surface roughness are analyzed.The surface contour signal was decomposed and reconstructed by the Symlets wavelet basis function.A reasonable signal of waviness is obtained.The corresponding algorithm of the characteristic parameter of waviness is also presented.The foundation for further surface quality evaluation is established.In addition,the program of waviness extraction algorithm is compiled and MATLAB GUI is used to develop waviness recognition software.A roundness error test of large size rotating parts is carried out in order to further verify the efficiency of the method proposed in this paper.The experimental results are satisfactory.
