Iron tailing sand is the residual residue of iron ore after beneficiation.A large amount of this kind of industrial solid waste occupies agricultural fields, pollutes river channels and destroys the natural ecological environment. In this paper, iron tailing sand is used to replace natural sand as fine aggregate for the preparation of iron tailing sand block, and a new type of green and environmental protection wall block is developed. In this paper, the compressive performance of iron tailing sand block masonry is experimented and studied.Eighteen standard compressive specimens with a height to thickness ratio of 3 were fabricated with iron tailing sand blocks, and the variation parameters were block strength and mortar strength. The axial static load test was carried out on the specimens, and the failure process, crack development, failure mode, cracking load, peak load and ultimate load were recorded and described. The test results showed that:(1)The cracking coefficient of the standard specimens is 0.2~0.4,and the peak load is later than that of the ordinary concrete masonry. The elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio of the specimens are calculated, and can resist the axial deformation of the masonry within a certain range;(2)The compressive strength of masonry increases by about 6% when mortar strength increases by one grade, and the compressive strength of masonry increases by about 18%when block strength increases by one grade;(3)Suggestions for calculating the compressive strength of iron tailing sand block masonry are put forward. At the same time, three kinds of iron tailing sand wall specimens with different ratio of height to thickness were made and the compressive bearing capacity of the wall was analyzed. The results showed that:(1)the greater the ratio of height to thickness of the wall specimen, the lower the compressive bearing capacity of the wall specimen;(2)The influence coefficient of correction for the bearing capacity of iron tailing sand block wall is suggested.Figure 54;Table 22;Reference 47...
