| In the early days of the People’s Republic of China, all were started from the scratch.Under such circumstances, the Central Committee decided to implement the first Five-Year Plan from 1953 to 1957.Relying on Jilin city’s superior geographical conditions and rich natural resources, the first chemical base of the new China was built in Jiangbei district of Jilin City supported by the Soviet Union, marked by the 156 Project and Jilin Three Chemical Plants(Jilin Dye Factory,Jilin Fertilizer Plant,Jilin calcium carbide plant). On 10 October2014,China-Russia Friendship Association and others entities issued 156 Projects Industrial Heritage Protection Proposal, stating that the 156 Project was the carrier of China’s industrialization, enjoying a special position and role in the history of China’s industrial and social development, and the industrial heritages under Project 156 should be protected as a whole and rationally developed and utilized. On 18 August 2016,China Youth Planners Alliance launched a public research initiative online entitled Looking for 156 Projects-the Historical Memory of the Early Industrialization of New China, and reiterated that collecting and organizing the relevant historical data of 156 Projects, conducting relevant surveys, and making recommendations for conservation had been more urgent. However,at present, there is a lack of research on the industrial panorama, the building process of factories, the influence on urban development, the investigation and study of industrial and architectural heritage, the protection and utilization of Jilin’s three chemical plants.Hence,it is necessary to carry out systematic research on Jilin’s three chemical plants to enrich the history of chemical industry, urban planning and architectural history, and to enhance industrial heritages protection and utilization etc.The thesis takes the industrial upgrading and transformation of Jilin chemical base as the background, summarizes the typical cases of industrial architectural heritage protection and utilization at home and abroad, takes the three chemical plants industrial base of Jilin as the research object, and regards the 156 Project as the penetrating point.Through the analysis of the historical review of the construction of the three chemical factories in Jilin, the current conditions of industrial architectural heritages, the characteristics of construction and planning, and the value characteristics, the author puts forward the ways of protecting and reusing the industrial architectural heritage of Jilin’s three major chemical plants, and summarizes the principles of authenticity, integrity, technological diversity and adaptive reusing.Besides, the author also proposes industrial building space reconstruction, interface reconstruction and technology reuse strategies. Finally, the author proposes some concrete suggestions and makes conclusions on the protection and utilization of Jilin’s three chemical plants industrial architectural heritage.Based on the establishment of modern chemical industry heritage museum, the transformation of single-storey factory into staff badminton hall and the protection and utilization of granulation Tower of Jilin Fertilizer Plant, the thesis also puts forward constructive plans. The construction and development of Jilin’s three chemical plants have made important contributions to the basic chemical industry of China and the urban construction of Jilin City, and forged hard work and pioneering spirits for the workers in the early stage of the new China. Therefore,in the new era,it is of great practical significance to study the industrial architectural heritage of Jilin’s three chemical plants for the modernization development of our country. |
