The maintenance and renovation of asphalt pavement will not only produce a huge amount of reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP),but also need to use a large amount of new aggregates and new asphalt.Effective recycling of RAP can not only reduce a large amount of non-renewable resources such as new aggregates and new asphalt,but also protect the environment and realize the sustainable development of resources.Re-refined Engine Oil Bottom(REOB),as the residue after the recycling of waste engine oil,has a certain similarity with asphalt in composition.If REOB can be used in old asphalt pavement,it can not only "treat waste with waste",but also realize the recycling of REOB and RAP,and it is expected to improve the performance of the asphalt pavement and the economic,social and environmental benefits are very significant.Two kinds of REOB,from different sources were selected to analyze their physical and chemical properties,and two kinds of REOB with different contents were added to three kinds of asphalt with different aging degrees,and REOB recycled asphalt was prepared by melt blending method.The effects of REOB on the physical properties,dynamic shear rheological properties,bending beam rheological properties and aging properties of aged asphalt were studied respectively.The effects of REOB on the microstructure,element composition,chemical composition and chemical structure of aged asphalt were analyzed by atomic force microscope((AFM)),X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy((XRF)),thin layer chromatography-flame ionization detection(TLC-FID)and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),respectively.Based on the macroscopic properties(physical rheological properties of REOB recycled asphalt)and microcosmic properties(micro morphology,element composition,chemical composition and chemical structure),the interaction mechanism between REOB and aging asphalt was discussed.On this basis,the mix ratio of REOB recycled asphalt mixture was designed,and the road performance of REOB recycled asphalt mixture was studied.The results show that REOB has a certain recovery effect on the physical rheological properties of aging asphalt,among which the recovery effect on slightly aged asphalt is the strongest.When REOB is added to aging asphalt,REOB can not only adjust the content of light components of the aged asphalt,but also dissolve asphaltene in the aging asphalt,make the agglomerated asphaltene reuniformly dissolve in the colloid system of aged asphalt,promote the transformation of colloid structure and functional group structure of aged asphalt,and improve the stability of aging asphalt colloid structure.As a result,the performance of aged asphalt can be restored.The addition of REOB reduces the high temperature anti-rutting ability of recycled asphalt mixture,while enhances the low temperature cracking resistance and water stability of recycled asphalt mixture.
