Research On British Community Library Architecture

Community library is the library closest to the life of city residents.In recent years,people’s demand for spiritual culture is increasing day by day.As the basic cultural facilities in People’s Daily life,the construction and development level of community library has a direct impact on the achievements of China’s cultural construction.In 2011,the CPC Central Committee put forward the long-term strategy of building China into a cultural power,aiming to comprehensively improve the life and spiritual and cultural quality of the Chinese people.Taking the community library as the research object to carry out the research can not only help the development of the public library cause in China,but also contribute to the early realization of cultural power.In recent years,the community libraries in China have developed vigorously in the first-tier cities,but there is still a big gap compared with other developed countries.Based on the above research background,the author takes the British community library as the main research object,takes the development history of the British community library as well as the research on relevant policies and regulations as the theoretical basis,and conducts an in-depth study on 12 British community library buildings through the network survey,field survey and relevant literature inquiry.Explore and summarize its design strategy in three aspects: preliminary planning,exterior space design of building site and interior space design of building.Then through study the domestic development situation of community library,the selection of the domestic level of community library development is located in the forefront of the guangzhou region community library as the main research object,on the questionnaire survey to the current situation of the community library and summarizes the problems existing in the present,absorb the outstanding case experience and draw lessons from the community library.The full text is mainly divided into three parts,consisting of five chapters.The first part is the first chapter,which is the basic research part of this paper.The first chapter systematically discusses the research background,purpose and significance of this paper and the research status at home and abroad,and introduces the main research content and methods of this paper.The second part is the second to the fourth chapter,which is the core chapter of this paper.First,the second chapter of the community library construction study and draw lessons from the pilot study,contains the analysis of the definition and characteristics of community library,the relationship between the community library and public library,the four development trend of community library in the future,and relevant policies and regulations about the construction of the community library development to summarize,for later research and analysis of ground buildings.Second chapter iii of the British community library development and present situation of each period were analyzed,and the summary of the selected case 12 British community library practice experience,respectively from the construction site,building types,building external space,building internal functions,analyzing four aspects and as a foundation for the later strategy summary.Finally,the fourth chapter summarizes the planning and design strategies of British community libraries from three aspects: the preliminary planning of the project,the external space of the building site and the internal space of the building.In the pre-planning research of the British community library project,this paper summarizes the strategy from five aspects: architectural design background,architectural design code requirements,architectural design influencing factors,architectural site selection and architectural type analysis.In the design of the external space of the building site of the British community library,this paper summarizes the design strategies from five aspects: site function layout,street space design,entrance space design,building facade design and barrer-free and humanized design.In the design of the interior space of the case building of the British community library,this paper summarizes the strategy from four aspects: functional modules and proportion,design of main functional modules,space combination relationship and barrier-free humanized design.The third part is the fifth chapter,which is the key part of this paper.The fifth chapter sorts out and analyzes the relevant policies and regulations of the construction of community libraries in China,the development history and the current situation of community libraries.According to the data of the development level of public libraries in each province and the national economic living standard of each province,the Guangzhou-Shenzhen area,which is in the forefront,is taken as the domestic research object.And through the field investigation,field interviews,literature reading way of nine connect areas such as the construction status of community library construction making arrangement,the community library by means of questionnaires of analyzing the characteristics and use requirements,finally summarizes five status among Chinese community library building a big area,And according to the fourth chapter for the British community library building strategy summary,in view of the development status of China’s reference.
