At present, the number of motor vehicles in our country continues to increase, and the safety awareness of pedestrians and motor vehicle drivers is different. At the same time, the environment of signal-controlled intersections is complex and pedestrians and vehicles are mixed.Traffic accidents involving pedestrians crossing the street occur from time to time, and pedestrians are used as roads.Vulnerable groups in traffic have suffered heavy losses in their lives and property safety when road traffic accidents occur. Therefore, this paper takes pedestrians crossing the street at signal-controlled intersections as the research object, explores the visual search and behavior characteristics of pedestrians when they perform street crossing tasks, and then improves the theory of pedestrian traffic flow, reduces the occurrence of pedestrian traffic accidents, and improves the safety of pedestrians crossing the street.First of all,on the premise of summarizing the research on pedestrian crossing attention at home and abroad, plan and carry out pedestrian crossing field experiments to collect relevant visual search parameters and crossing speed parameters.Through statistical methods such as one-way analysis of variance,independent-sample t-test,and paired-sample t-test,the characteristics of visual search and behavior of pedestrians in different crossing states, genders, and ages are analyzed. On this basis, the pedestrian’s eye movement parameters, crossing speed and Psychological Critical Time Window are coupled and analyzed, and a mathematical model between the two parameters is established. The concept of critical safety level and pedestrian risk perception based on the idea of matrix calculation is proposed.Based on the risk perception factor and critical safety factor index, pedestrian crossing styles are divided into risky, ordinary and cautious through K-means clustering algorithm. On this basis, the visual search of different styles of pedestrians and the differences in crossing reliability are studied. The main research conclusions obtained in this paper are as follows:(1)Pedestrian crossing state, gender and age have a significant influence on the visual search of pedestrians when crossing the street. The gaze points of pedestrians in Critical Psychological Crossing State(CCS)are tightly distributed, while the gaze points of pedestrians in Free Crossing State(FCS)are more evacuated. When pedestrians cross the street in CCS state, they pay more attention to the signal area and the traffic area than in the FCS state;from the perspective of gender, men in the FCS state pay more attention to the signal area and the vehicle area than women, and women in the CCS state pay more attention to the signal lights and the traffic area. The left and right sides are more concerned about the direction of the traffic than men.At the same time, women have a higher percentage of gazes in other unrelated areas than men. This reflects that women are prone to distraction when crossing the street and are more affected by the outside world. From the perspective of age,In the CCS state, the elderly are more sensitive to the risk perception of the left and right side of the traffic area and the importance of crossing safety is stronger than that of the young and middle-aged.(2)The crossing state and age have a significant impact on pedestrian crossing speed and psychological critical time window. The crossing speed of pedestrians in CCS state is significantly higher than that in FCS state, and the average crossing speed of teenagers,middle-aged and young people is significantly higher than that of elderly people; The distribution of the critical time window of psychology is more concentrated, while the distribution of the critical time window of men’s psychology is more discrete;from the perspective of age,the distribution of the critical time window of mentality of adolescents is more discrete than that of the young and old.(3)There is a correlation between pedestrian crossing speed, psychological critical time window and eye movement parameters. The average pedestrian crossing speed is negatively correlated with the psychological critical time window;in the CCS state, the gaze probability of pedestrians in the vehicle area increases with the increase in the average crossing speed, and the average crossing speed is negatively correlated with the gaze probability of the pedestrian area Relationship;the percentage of pedestrian saccade time and the gaze probability of the signal light area show a downward trend with the increase of the psychological critical time window;when the average pedestrian crossing speed increases, the average saccade speed of the pedestrian, the percentage of saccade time and the gaze probability of the signal light area show Upward trend.(4)Through the establishment of a pedestrian crossing style recognition model, pedestrians are divided into cautious, ordinary and adventurous, and the characteristics of pedestrian crossing behavior of different styles of pedestrians are analyzed, and the risk perception of adventurous, ordinary and cautious pedestrians is found The level increased in turn;in addition,it was found that the probability of successful pedestrian crossings of adventurous, ordinary, and cautious pedestrians showed a law of increasing in turn.(5)Pedestrians of different styles have commonalities and characteristics. In the male group, the cautious type has the lowest percentage of saccade time, and in the female group, the cautious type has the highest percentage of time; The street crossing speed showed an increasing trend, and the elderly group showed a decreasing trend.
