With the improvement of my country’s comprehensive national strength, the number of motor vehicles has soared, and traffic congestion has become more and more serious. It is a research hotspot in recent years to focus on the construction of the urban traffic division structure with public transportation as the main body.At present, there are still some shortcomings in the research on residents’ transportation choice guided by mainstream economics.First, the economic growth theory and model of mainstream economics cannot explain the role of transportation choice in promoting social and economic development from the perspective of division of labor. The second is the defect of the method. It only adopts the method of marginal analysis and ignores the individual endogenous choice of division of labor and professional level decision-making.Therefore,this article uses inframarginal analysis to explore residents’ travel choices and the evolution of the transportation division structure in society. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:This article starts with the study of residents’ travel choice and analyzes the impact of the interaction of individual travel choice decisions on the overall social division of labor.First, collect data through questionnaire surveys, analyze the factors that affect residents’ travel choices and preferences through factor analysis, and calculate their evaluation values and weight values respectively.Secondly, construct an inframarginal analysis model of residents’ travel choices.Using the concept and form of the expected utility theory, introducing the "ideal travel mode",using the gray correlation method to establish the travel choice preference probability function, and obtaining the estimated value of the residents’ preference for different travel choices.Based on the theory of new classical economics, substituting preference parameters, constructing an inframarginal analysis travel decision model, deriving 3 semi-specialized labor division structures and 1 complete labor division structure consisting of 5 models, and finding the corner equilibrium solution. All the equilibrium analysis and sensitivity analysis of these four kinds of division of labor structure are carried out,and the influence of transaction efficiency k on the division of labor structure and the change of preference value on the equilibrium price ratio and relative number of people in the division of labor structure are obtained. The study found that with the improvement of transaction efficiency, the transportation market has shown a discontinuous evolution from a semi-specialized division of labor structure to a complete division of labor structure. Finally, according to the current situation of Guilin City,it is analyzed that Guilin City is in a semi-specialized division of labor structure with a high level of specialization. At the same time,it is concluded that the optimal division of labor structure in line with the concept of sustainable development is a complete division of labor structure based on public transport priority.According to the conclusions drawn from the sensitivity analysis, corresponding improvement strategies are proposed according to the influence of different preference values on bus priority. As the preference value of walking and public transportation increases,it is conducive for residents to choose public transportation. Therefore, improvement strategies to improve the walking environment and promote the implementation of public transportation priority are proposed as well as restriction strategies to restrict car travel.
