With the development of campsites and the support of local policies,trailer-mounted RV have become an important choice for tourists, and the trailer-mounted RV industry has developed rapidly. The trailer-mounted RV is a caravan. It has no power and needs to be dragged by a tractor-mounted RV.The movement on the road is more complicated than that of a separate car.The trailer-mounted RV is prone to folding, flicking, and sideways when driving.Dangerous working conditions such as turning over, resulting in road traffic accidents and threats to people’s lives. So,analyzing the driving stability of trailer-mounted RV is of great significance for protecting people’s lives and reducing road traffic accidents. The main research contents are as follows:1.In this article, based on a certain model of trailer, through the set up of the multi-body dynamics software ADAMS/Car tractor and trailer-mounted RV model of each subsystem and the whole tractor-trailer-mounted RV assembly system, brake subsystem between tractor and trailer. And then in the standard interface assembly out of the vehicle dynamics model. The snake crossing and steady-state rotation experiments are carried out on the test sample vehicle, and the simulation analysis is carried out on the established model in the ADAMS/Car software under the same working condition. The accuracy of the established model is verified by comparing the results of the experiment with the simulation, which provides a basis for the future simulation analysis.2.The driving stability of the tractor-trailer was analyzed according to the simulation of the model verified above, including the angle impulse steering simulation test, the steering wheel step simulation test, and the single lane change simulation test. The simulation results show that the trailer-trailer has good driving stability. Then, stress analysis was carried out on the established tractor-trailer saloon car model under braking conditions,I curve was drawn, and the distribution coefficient of braking force of each axle was calculated.3.The influencing factors of the driving stability of the trailer-mounted RV were analyzed under the turning braking condition, and the influences of the mass of the trailer, the stiffness of the suspension spring, the damping of the suspension shock absorber, the cornering stiffness of the tire, the height of the center of mass, the stiffness of the rear suspension spring of the tractor and the adhesion coefficient of the road were analyzed. The analysis results show that reducing the mass of the trailer, increasing the stiffness of the suspension spring, reducing the height of the center of mass and increasing the cornering stiffness of the tire are beneficial to improving the running stability of the trailer in the turning braking condition.4.The response surface model optimization method is used to optimize the driving stability of the trailer-mounted RV.Select the quality of the trailer-mounted RV,the stiffness of the suspension spring, the height of the center of mass, and the tire cornering stiffness as design variables, and select the roll angle under turning and braking conditions as the optimized target quantity, and compare the optimized scheme with the original scheme. The driving stability of the trailer-mounted RV is improved.
