| With the development of advanced manufacturing industry,rapid adapting to the changing customers’ requirements of products plays an important role in determining the competitiveness of manufacturers in the marketplace.However,the development of new products often leads to unacceptable development time and cost.Adaptable design that can meet new requirements through partial reuse of existing design,has been attracted many research and industrial attentions.Design evaluation plays an important role in adaptable design.Existing product data(including design data and product sales data)contains valuable design information,which can be used as an important resource for product adaptability evaluation.Hence,this research aims to develop a method for the adaptability evaluation using existing product data.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:·An adaptability evaluation method considering product parameters is proposed: by using historical product data,the correlation and dependence analysis of product specifications and design parameters are carried out.Then,according to the correlation and dependency analysis results,influences of design changes is localized,and critical design parameters to product specifications are identified.Finally,by comparing the actual design scheme with the standard scheme of adaptable design considering product parameters,the adaptability evaluation method considering product parameters is developed.·An adaptability evaluation method considering product configurations is proposed: by using product sales data,the correlation and dependence analysis of product specifications and components are carried out.Then,according to the correlation and dependency analysis results,component clustering is carried out.Accordingly,standard adaptable modular design scheme is obtained.Finally,through the comparison between the actual design scheme and the standard adaptable modular scheme,the adaptability evaluation method considering product configurations is developed.·Software tools for adaptability evaluation is developed: based on the proposed adaptability evaluation methods,two software function modules,i.e.parameter adaptability evaluation module and configuration Based on the proposed adaptability evaluation module are developed.Then,two modules were integrated together for product adaptability evaluation.After input the required product data,product adaptability can be easily evaluated by using the developed software tool.·Case studies are carried out to illustrate the proposed methods and developed software tool:design and evaluation of battery pack of electric vehicle is carried out as an example to illustrate the parameter adaptability evaluation;Design and evaluation of modular earth pressure balance tunnel boring machine is carried out as an examples to illustrate the configuration adaptability evaluation. |
