The rapid development of urbanization is often accompanied by a series of development problems. How to combine multi-source big data to analyze urban spatial structure and put forward development suggestions is becoming a research hotspot.Research on urban development issues from the perspective of optimizing urban functional space, improve the level of urban land intensive use,and promote diversification of urban spatial structure. In this paper, based on the research results of domestic and foreign urban functional area identification and polycentric spatial structure, the main research object is the downtown area of Guangzhou, integrates POI data, thermal map data and OSM data to establish a reasonable urban functional area research system, uses kernel density estimation to calculate the frequency of POI data density to identify the types of main functional areas in Guangzhou, and uses AHP and kernel density to recognize urban polycentric structure. The spatial coupling relationship between each function center and thermal value is analyzed by stacking thermal value with spatial superposition analysis method, and research the degree of polycentric and its distribution characteristics.Analyze the structural problems of Guangzhou’s central urban area and put forward policy recommendations for the optimization of urban spatial structure development. The results show that:(1)The single functional area in the central district of Guangzhou is the main component.According to the division of seven functional areas, the urban functional structure is mainly comprehensive functional areas;according to the division of single and comprehensive functions, the overall layout structure is "more single and less comprehensive",and each single functional area has different spatial distribution. There are few null value areas, which indicates that the potential of land increment in central urban area is limited, and the land structure is mainly stock land.(2)The distribution of urban functional areas in the central urban area of Guangzhou presents two states:residential, industrial, commercial, science and education, public function cluster distribution, and the feature of functional zoning is significant, which indicates that the function cluster and urban planning spontaneously formed by urban historical and geographical factors have a significant impact on the urban functional structure; The function of green square is scattered and the degree of aggregation is not high, which is mainly related to the large area of green square and the small amount of data.(3)The multi-functional center in the central urban area presents a spatial layout of"one main and two auxiliary".The main center is located in the middle of Yuexiu district along the old central axis of Guangzhou, with a variety of functional facilities such as residence, business, shopping and entertainment, science and education, etc.the city has mature functions and superior location conditions.A multi-functional sub center is located in the east of Yuexiu district, mainly for medical, residential, scientific and educational functions, which can meet the needs of residents’ daily life and public services.Another multi-functional sub center is concentrated in the southwest of Tianhe district, mainly for business, shopping and entertainment, residential functions, and active commercial activities. The single function center is concentrated around the multi-function center, mainly concentrated in Yuexiu district, southwest Tianhe district and northwest Haizhu district.Combined with the thermal map,the population is mainly concentrated in the old city of Yuexiu, the northeast of adjacent Liwan district, the southwest of Tianhe district, and the northwest of Haizhu district across the river.
