The sustainable development is the theme of the development of today’s world and the development idea of our country.Renewable energy such as wind power and solar power is the general trend of energy consumption at present.However,renewable energy such as wind energy has the limitation of mismatch between supply and demand so that the application of energy storage technology is of great significance for solving the problem.In this paper,a three-tube phase change heat storage and heat transfer unit is designed,and its heat storage and exothermic characteristics are studied experimentally and optimized by numerical simulation.Firstly,the transfer performance of triplex tube heat exchanger and double tube heat exchanger are compared by numerical simulation,and the effects of natural convective of phase change material(PCM)and heat transfer fluid flow direction on heat storage and exothermic performance are studied to guide the construction of the test platform for the performance of the triplex tube heat exchanger.Next,based on the simulation results,the performance test bench of triplex tube heat exchanger is built.The heat storage conditions of the triplex tube heat exchanger under the influence of different temperature,flow rate and flow pattern for the charging process were analyzed and studied by means of experiments.Moreover,the reliability and accuracy of the simulation results are also verified.Finally,a reliable numerical simulation model is used to simulate the discharging progress of the triplex tube heat exchanger,and the effects of flow rate,flow pattern,temperature and pcm initial temperature on the discharging process were studied and analyzed in detail.On the foundation of the triplex tube heat exchanger,the upgraded fourfold tube heat exchanger is put forward,and compared with the triplex tube one.As a result,the fourfold one can greatly achieve a large temperature difference under the premise of saving materials,and will have better economic benefits,which provides a new direction for the research of casing phase change heat storage and heat transfer unit.
