In applications such as high-voltage LEDs,electrostatic generators,hernia lamps HID,and insulation testing,the required DC voltage is high,and PFC converters with high voltage gains need to be used.This article mainly studied the topology and control technology of low power high voltage gain PFC converter.In order to reduce the cost and increase the power density,this paper adopts a single-stage PFC structure.The use of tapped-inductors(TI)in combination with traditional Boost PFC converters can achieve ten times or more voltage gain.TI technology has the characteristics of few components,simple topology,and high power density.However,the inherent leakage problem of TI will bring higher voltage and current stress,oscillation and other problems.Soft switching technology is the focus and difficulty in related research.In addition,the PFC converter has complex control and high precision.How to combine the new PFC topology to provide a cost-effective control scheme has important engineering application value.Combining the above issues,this article mainly studies the following.1.The lossless passive soft-switching topology of the high-voltage gain TI Boost PFC converter is studied.The device parameter design method and topology selection guide are presented.Three different passive lossless soft switching circuits are studied in this researh.The working principles and design methods of the three circuits are presented.According to quantitative analysis and comparison between the topologies,the application guidelance is presented.2.Based on Boost PFC one cycle control(OCC)chip IR1155 S,a new and improved OCC PFC controller implementation scheme with wide applicability is proposed.Existing OCC control chips on the market,such as IR1150 S,IR1155S,etc.,are only suitable for Boost PFC converters.The new and improved one cycle PFC controller scheme proposed in this article can modify the internal OCC balance control equation by adding a small amount of analog circuits around the IR1155 S chip,so it is suitable for various Boost and non-Boost PFC converters.Simple,cost-effective,convenient design,wide application.Finally,the theoretical design method of the new and improved OCC closed-loop controller is given.3.Theoretical design and prototype construction of three high-voltage gain PFC topologies are carried out.Three high-boost Boost PFC converter prototypes with 85-265 Vac input,800 Vdc output,and 200 W output power are designed and tested.Relevant experiments show that the studied high-voltage gain PFC voltage ratio with coupled inductors can reach nearly ten times,the highest efficiency can reach 94.2%,and has the characteristics of high power factor(0.999)and low THD(<3%),which meets the design demand.In summary,this paper presents three different high-voltage gain PFC topologies and design methods.Based on this,we propose a high-cost-effective general-purpose OCC PFC controller implementation method and design method with a wide range of applicability.Finally,the performance of the proposed high-voltage gain PFC converter is verified through a large number of experiments,and the correctness of related theoretical analysis is verified.
