Kinetic architecture is to complete a certain position change or geometric change in form or structure through a certain component or device,so that the building has mobility,flexibility and adaptability.The interdisciplinary development brings new vitality to the kinetic architecture.With the help of material science,control technology and computer-aided design technology progress,the kinetic architecture has produced many new devices or systems.These research processes are focused on the performance and characteristics of a new material or new mechanical structure to explore the application possibilities and combinations with universality,so as to take this principle as a method of kinetic architecture and finally design new adaptive architectural devices.In this context,based on the concept of kinetic architecture,this study carried out a study on the wedge unit,looking for the pattern change rules brought by different forms and combinations,and designed a building installation system composed of wedge unit.The research is carried out from four aspects:1)To study the process and form of the motion change of four different shapes of the prototype wedge element and its combination under the action of external forces.Based on the exploration of the performance and characteristics of hydrodynamic artificial muscle based on origami structure,this principle is applied to the wedge element,and after analyzing the characteristics of different wedge element prototypes,three wedge kinetic devices with different bending motion,composite motion and curved motion are proposed.2)Six kinds of wedge shaped kinetic building device generation and development tools that can fit 2d curve,3D curve,three kinds of spreadable surface and sweeping surface were made.Through the fitting of many different geometric forms,the application potential of wedge-shaped kinetic device in architecture is demonstrated.In order to facilitate architects to use this kinetic device for building design,six kinds of wedge kinetic device tools were made to fit different forms.3)Two control modes of wedge-shaped kinetic construction devices,fluid drive and mechanical drive,are proposed.Based on the research of the principle of the wedge kinetic device and the power driving mode commonly used in engineering manufacturing,two kinds of control modes of the changing process for this device are designed.4)The design practice of kinetic construction device based on wedge element is carried out.Three typical wedge-shaped kinetic devices with different motion modes are designed by using the research results and tools.The design of the exterior entrance and exit installation,the interior kinetic ceiling and the interior dynamic display wall are completed.Based on the study of the characteristics of the wedge element which is a common mechanical component,this paper develops the design of the construction device under this principle technology.It provides a new way of thinking for the design of kinetic architecture.The whole thesis contains about 45 000 words,166 pictures and charts.
