Vibration control has been developed in the field of construction for more than 40 years.Semi-active control stands out with its excellent properties and has become one of the most promising control methods.Semi-active control has many advantages such as low energy consumption,good shock absorption effect,and easy maintenance.Magnetorheological elastomer(MRE)is a new type of material mixed with ferromagnetic particles added to a rubber matrix.This material can change its stiffness according to the applied magnetic field The problem of particle sedimentation in magnetorheological fluid is solved well.Therefore,the application of this material in semi-active control will have good research value.This paper focuses on the performance research of magnetorheological elastomer dampers,starting with the performance of magnetorheological elastomers and analyzing the damping effect of magnetorheological elastomer dampers through simulation.The main research contents of this article are as follows.(1)Simulate the performance of MRE.The electromagnetic field simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics was used to simulate MRE with 20%,30%,and 40% ferromagnetic particles in a constant magnetic field.The simulation results show that as the content of ferromagnetic particles increases,their compression and shear The underlying stress will increase accordingly.(2)Design the extruded MRE damper.According to the characteristics of MRE,the electromagnetic circuit analysis software ANSYS Maxwell is used to analyze the magnetic circuit.The simulation shows that when the intensity of the excitation current passed by the damper reaches 2A,the MRE can basically meet the requirements of magnetic induction intensity greater than 0.8T.At this time,the damper can be fully utilized Maximum performance.(3)Finally,the application of MRE dampers on a six-story cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame structure is used to illustrate the damping effect of MRE dampers.It can be seen from the MATLAB simulation results that applying the damper to the actual project can effectively reduce the damage caused by the earthquake.Under the action of El-Centro wave,its acceleration efficiency is reduced by 40%,and the effect of reducing structural displacement is also very significant.Under the effect of Taft waves,the acceleration of the top layer is reduced by 40.12% than before the damper is added,and the amplitude of the top layer displacement is more obvious.
