| Pedestrians are generally considered to be vulnerable road users who are extremely vulnerable to serious injuries or even death in road traffic accidents.Compared to vehicle-tovehicle interaction in terms of vehicle safety,much less attention has been paid to pedestrian safety.Although some places have already promulgated the policy that vehicles should yield pedestrians in front of the un-signalized crosswalk,but drivers often violate the policy and do not slow down.In order to understand the current situation of vehicles yielding to pedestrians better,and build a more civilized and orderly traffic order,this article selects an un-signalized midblock crosswalk in the northern section of Zhuque Street in Xi’an as the study object.The uav video recording method is used to collect data,and combined with object detection and tracking technology of YOLO v3 + Deep Sort,the moving track coordinates of motor vehicles,non-motor vehicles,and pedestrians in the video are extracted.To extract the moving track coordinates,the motor vehicle groups are further divided into three categories: bus,taxi,and car,that is,the heterogeneous motor vehicle groups.This paper analyzes the characteristics of their yield rate,yield speed and cost,yield distance,yield angle,yield parking distance and yield waiting time in front of pedestrian crossings;analyzes the safety under different conditions of yield,finally proposes related improvement measures and recommendations based on the research conclusions.The research shows that: in terms of yield rate,the total yield and parking yield rate of the three heterogeneous vehicles,followed by taxis and private cars are the lowest.Buses have the best attitude of yield,followed by taxis,and private cars have least willing to yield.But in general,the lowest private cars also reach 71.41%,indicating that the overall performance of yield under the “Vehicles Yield to Pedestrians” is good.In terms of yield distance,the deceleration distance of the three heterogeneous vehicles is greater than the parking yield distance,among which the taxi gives the longest distance,the private car takes the second place,and the bus gives the shortest distance.In terms of the field of view,whether it is to deceleration or to park yield,the buses yield at more than the normal field of view,indicating that bus drivers are more cautious and pay attention to observe the surroundings.In terms of parking yield,the parking distance and yield waiting time of the buses are the highest,followed by taxis and private cars.In the safety evaluation of yield,the deceleration yield gives the driver enough time to make response,so can yield safely,but it is still necessary to check some vehicles with hidden dangers in the safety level.In the safety evaluation of parking yield,the average time of collision between buses and taxis is amost the same,private cars are the smallest.However,the deceleration rate required to stop of private cars is relatively high,which poses a greater safety hazard to pedestrians crossing the crosswalk.Private cars with the greatest safety risks,cluster analysis was carried out for the time to collision and the deceleration rate required to stop,private cars with potential safety risks accounted for 22.11%.In the Velocity-distance diagram private cars with potential safety risks accounted for 27.49%.Whether it is to deceleration to yield or park to yield,the yield characteristics and safety of buses and taxis are better than that of private cars.Therefore,it is necessary to pay more attention to the behavior of cars.Timely check the potential safety hazards in yield,and improve the overall yield safety of “vehicles yield to pedestrians”. |
