With the advancement of technology,data center IT equipment is highly integrated.With the rapid development of data centers,energy efficiency deviations and heat dissipation in computer rooms are getting higher and higher.Due to the current tight energy situation,the problem of high energy consumption in data centers has begun to receive strong attention from all walks of life.Therefore,the key issues that data center operators urgently need to solve are:changing the current high-energy consumption mode of the data center to reduce the energy consumption of its cooling system.According to the high energy consumption and local hot spots in the data center application of traditional mechanical refrigeration and air conditioning systems,this paper proposes a micro-channel flat-plate loop heat pipe system based on data center waste heat recovery to reduce data center energy consumption and recover heat.This can effectively improve the energy efficiency of the data center and promote energy saving and emission reduction in the data center.In this research,the heat recovery system consists of an evaporator processed by a micro-channel flat-plate heat pipe array,a condenser also processed by a micro-channel flat-plate heat pipe array,a heat exchanger,a vapour transportation line,and a liquid transportation line.The system timely transfers the heat of the IT equipment to the outdoor for recovery,keeping the IT equipment at the specified working temperature.The system can also solve local hotspot problems of IT equipment and improve its work efficiency.Therefore,the energy utilization efficiency of the data center is improved.In the course of the research,an indoor simulation experimental test of the system of microchannel flat-plate loop heat pipe based on data center waste heat recovery will be performed.Use the walk-in environment control room to simulate the temperature and humidity of the data room.By controlling the circulating water flow,the inlet water temperature of the heat exchanger,the height difference between the evaporator and the condenser,the simulated heat and the system’s filling rate to analyze the influence of different variables on the heat recovery efficiency.The 500W server is used as the analysis object to evaluate the economic benefits and energy saving and emission reduction benefits of the system.The test results of this research show that:When the system reaches stable operation,the temperature of the surface of the micro-channel flat heat pipe at the evaporator and the condenser gradually decreases with the increase of the water flow rate;it gradually increases with the increase of the inlet water temperature and the simulated heat;it changes very little with the increase of its height difference and filling rate.The vapour pressure of the system gradually decreases with the increase of water flow rate,gradually increases with the increase of inlet water temperature and simulated heat.However,the vapour pressure of the system is very little affected by the height difference and filling rate.When the circulating water flow rate,the height difference and the filling rate increases,the average heat recovery efficiency of the system increases first and then decreases,and it gradually decreases with the increase of the inlet water temperature and simulated heat.Through the error analysis,it was found that the maximum uncertainty error of the system heat recovery efficiency was 8.98%,which not exceeding 10%.This indicates that the effect of the instrument error on heat recovery efficiency of the system is relatively small.The system construction cost is¥2,750,the annual net income is¥4,103.02,and the investment recovery period is 1.17 years,indicating that the system has a promising profit prospect.The system operation can save 845.17kg of standard coal every year.The reduction of dust,NOx,CO2 and SO2 emissions was respectively 574.72kg、31.69kg、2107.01kg and63.39kg.The total benefit of emission reduction for the whole year was¥898.66,and the effect of energy saving and emission reduction was significant.
