Brake discs are the key components of disc brakes for rail vehicles.The preliminary investigation of high-speed trains traveling in cold regions shows that the scratching of the brake disc is extremely serious with icy and cold winds witch lead to greatly reduction of the service life of the brake disc.Because of this,a method of surface rolling strengthening will be discussed in this article.This method is to prepare a reinforcement layer on the surface of the brake disc to improve its ability to resist abrasive wear.The specific research contents are as follows:According to the surface rolling strengthening process mechanism,the LS-DYNA software was used to establish the surface rolling strengthening finite element simulation model.Then a simulation analysis scheme was designed based on the principle of single variable,and certain process parameters were carried out,such as rolling amount,rolling speed,and feed speed.According to the simulation results,the influence of rolling process parameters on the residual stress of the brake disc surface was analyzed.The Deform-3D software was used to build a deformation layer structure refinement simulation model to study the grain refinement evolution process of the surface layer material during the rolling strengthening process of the brake disc.A surface rolling strengthening tool for lathes was designed using a diamond pen.According to the plasticity of the brake disc material,the rolling strengthening process parameters were designed.And a single factor experiment was used to compare the influence of different rolling process parameters on the surface roughness,micro hardness and surface residual stress of the brake disc;Scanning electron microscope was used to observe the deformation layer structure of the brake disc specimen after rolling,and the influence of different rolling parameters on the grain refinement layer was studied.Finally,the results were analyzed in combination with experiments as well as macro and micro simulations.In this paper,the method of combining simulation analysis and surface rolling experiment was used to study the influence of rolling process parameters on the mechanical properties,the surface morphology,and the micro structure of the brake disc.The research result can be used with the rolling process to improve the surface of the brake disc.And it provides some theoretical supports for the process practice of using rolling technology to improve the technical performance of the brake disc surface.
