Mudstone is a special engineering geological material with the following characteristics: complex composition,unclear layering,formation of fine particle deposits,disintegration,poor water permeability,long-term wind blowing and easy weathering.After that,the surface will become a slippery surface,which is a kind of oil-bearing rock series.Under the influence of climatic factors,muddy,broken pieces and disintegration may occur.In view of the above problems,according to the construction status of Pingquan section of National Highway 101,the engineering geology is investigated on the spot.The physical and mechanical properties of mudstone are studied by analyzing the basic physical properties of mudstone,compaction test,shear test,loading ratio test in California and expansive force test.Then the mudstone characteristics are further understood through the test of disintegration and fragmentation characteristics of weathered mudstone,and the construction scheme of mudstone embankment envelope is optimized according to the experimental results,which better solves this technical problem,provides a theoretical basis for the scheme of mudstone and mudstone as roadbed filling material,puts forward a new method of mudstone roadbed material modification,and puts forward a more applicable method combined with the envelope method.At the same time,it also analyses the stability of the roadbed slope and gives the corresponding treatment measures,which provide a good technical guarantee for the safe operation of the highway in the future.
