With the development of science and technology,the requirements for the structure of rotating machinery are getting higher and higher,which increases the incidence of failures The rotor system is a core component of rotating machinery.When it appears a failure,The system will cause serious accident easily.Squeeze film damper(SFD)is widely used in reductional vibrations of rotor systems due to its simple structure and remarkable reductional vibration effect.Under the fault state,the SFD can have a good reductional vibration effect which can effectively suppress the fault is a question worthy of further study.For the common rubbing faults and misalignment faults of a rotor system,the effects of the SFD are taken into account of the paper,and the effect of the SFD on the dynamic characteristics of the fault system is analyzed and the mechanism of the SFD for faults is studied.The main contents are as follows.Firstly,the background and significance of the research,the current research status of rotor system modeling,rubbing faults,misalignment faults,and the SFD are briefly explained.Secondly,the rotor system model is established by using the finite element method.Based on the Hertz contact theory,a rolling bearing and rubbing dynamics model are established.Based on the short bearing theory,a SFD dynamic model is considered and coupled to the rotor system model.The dynamic equation of the rotor-rolling bearing system with the rubbing fault and the SFD are established.The influence of structural parameters of the SFD(oil film clearance,squirrel cage support stiffness)is studied on the dynamic characteristics of the system.The mechanism of the SFD with rubbing faults are studied.Finally,based on a single rubbing fault,a rubbing misalignment and coupling faults are considered,a dynamic model of the rotor system with a coupled fault and the SFD is established,and the effect of the SFD on a coupled fault system is studied.The work on this paper shows that studying the mechanism of the SFD on coupling faults plays an important role in the safe and stable operation of a rotor system.The research results of this paper have a reference significance for the design of a rotor system.
